School Building Tours
Come and tour the elementary schools on Thursday, January 15th, from 5 pm - 7 pm. Below is the schedule for the evening. We will have school and building project team available at each school to give you a tour and to answer any questions you may have. There will be tours at the times listed below, and travel time to get to another school so you have the opportunity to see all 3 elementary schools.
5:00 - 5:30 PM Tour 1
10-minute travel time
5:40 - 6:10 PM Tour 2
10-minute travel time
6:20 - 6:40 PM Tour 3
Although we are not eliminating the Spring Street School, we want to give people the opportunity to see the much-improved educational setting for our PreK going into the Kindergarten wing. The Rose L MacDonald School and Howard School tours will focus on educational spaces that are outdated and overcrowded, as well as looking at the current conditions and limitations in the buildings.
Grade 1 Whale & Dolphin Presentation
Delilah swam by the Rose L. today to visit our first graders! Delilah is a life-sized inflatable North Atlantic Right Whale, with measurements based on a real whale. Students even got to go inside the whale to learn all about her body and what whales eat!
They also had the amazing opportunity to see and touch real whale vertebrae and baleen (whale teeth). It was truly a whale of a time and an unforgettable hands-on learning experience!
Grade 2 Read for 2026
On January 16th, all Grade 2 students will participate in the “Read for 2026” Reading and Pizza Party. Students wear their pajamas to school to ensure maximum comfort and are challenged to read for 2026 seconds. They will enjoy a delicious pizza party lunch to celebrate!
Grade 3 SkyDome Planetarium Presentation
Our students will be enjoying an unforgettable journey through the universe—right here at school! A portable, inflatable planetarium is coming to RLM, transforming our space into a dazzling dome filled with stars. Inside, students will explore a realistic night sky exactly as it appears on the day of the presentation.
Guided by a skilled navigator using a digital planetarium projector and laser pointer, students will take dramatic “flights” to each planet in our solar system, learn to identify constellations of the Northern Hemisphere, and discover Greek mythological heroes hidden among the stars. They’ll also experience how the night sky changes with the seasons and looks from different places around the world. A special thank-you to our PTO for providing this truly out-of-this-world learning experience for our students!
PRIDE program at RLM
At RLM, our PRIDE program is designed to help students grow not only as learners, but also as caring, responsible community members. Each month, teachers and students focus on one of our PRIDE traits:
-
September – Passion
-
October – Respect
-
November – Ingenuity
-
December – Determination
-
January – Empathy
-
February – Positivity
-
March – Responsibility
-
April – Inclusivity
-
May – Dreamer
Throughout the month, students learn about the featured trait in their classrooms and in schoolwide activities. On Mondays and Fridays, student volunteers share examples and their own interpretations of the trait during morning announcements. At the end of each month, we celebrate students who have done an exceptional job demonstrating the trait in their daily actions. These students will also receive a token to "purchase" a book from our school book vending machine.
Our PRIDE program helps us build a school culture where character, leadership, and positive choices are valued and celebrated.

Student Council wants YOU to help with BOX TOPS!
Families, you are AMAZING! We have more parents and grandparents using the Box Tops app and, as a result, we have already raised over $55 for our school. Please spread the word to other families in town and to your relatives! ANYONE can download the app to support our school. Why not take one minute after each shopping trip to scan the receipt and raise more money for RLM? Staples, CVS, Market Basket, Truchhi's, Roche Brothers, Walmart, Target, and more all carry Box Tops products that count towards our fundraising efforts! You are not spending any extra money. You just upload the digital receipts or scan paper receipts for items you are ALREADY purchasing! Every little bit helps our school! Click here to download the app today or send your receipts to school. We are happy to scan them for you!
