Principal Simpson's Message
Greetings PRM Families,
Welcome to 2023 and the second semester of the 22-23 school year. It was so nice to welcome our students and staff back on Tuesday. The new year brings fresh energy and promise as we forge ahead. Our team is focused and ready to continue to provide high-quality instruction for our students. We are working to meet the unique needs of our students as we support their growth and achievement.
During the month of January we will administer our mid-year assessments for all students K-6. To help our students perform their best please be sure that they come to school on time daily and are well rested. Once the diagnostic assessments are completed our teachers will be using this information to guide their instruction and meet the individual needs of the students.
Thank you families and community for the continued support of our students and school community. May we have a safe and healthy January.
Love,
Principal Simpson

9-12 News
Welcome back! We hope everyone had a wonderful break and is ready for a great start to Quarter 3. Students will begin taking their winter assessments this month. Every student will need their laptop for this assessment. Please take this time to ensure that your child has their device (and charger), that it is working correctly, and the charger is working and will charge their device. Knowing ahead of time that your child's device isn't working properly is greatly appreciated. Specific testing dates vary by grade level and homeroom. Information will be sent home from individual teachers. Teams have been spending time this week reviewing classroom and school expectations with students. Please take time to review the school uniform policy. You can find this in the student planner. Students should be in uniform every day. Remember that jeans, sweatpants and leggings are not a part of the school uniform. Thank you for your support.
News from the Specialist Team
Technology updates from Mr. David - Here's the low-down to what's going down in Tech!
Kindergarteners continue to excel at logging in and navigation. This quarter we move beyond keyboarding exercises and begin focusing on computer fundamentals.
The 6-9 communities are going to be focusing on Digital Citizenship, which encompasses everything from learning about their digital footprints to online safety and password protection.
4th/5th graders are beginning 3D printing! During the 3rd quarter we will cover the basics and then in the 4th quarter we will cover design. If things go according to plan, each student will have the ability to design and print their own keychain by the end of the year.
6th graders are continuing to learn about video production and editing. Most of the basics were covered last quarter and we will move into more creative projects including green screening themselves into the action. We will also start working on a video for their 6th grade recognition!
Music Update from Ms. Maria
