BlueJay Soaring Award Winners
Student of Month - Karlie Ward
It is a privilege to present the October Student of the Month Bluejay Soaring Award to Karlie Ward. Karlie has jumped into junior high with incredible enthusiasm and effort. Although she was initially unsure of herself, she consistently strives to learn, actively volunteering answers in class rather than sitting passively. Teachers commend her for working exceptionally hard to keep up with her classroom assignments and please her instructors, always trying her absolute best at everything she does. Described as very kind and sweet, Karlie comes in with a smile and greets others with genuine kindness. She truly brings sunshine into the room when she enters and is an absolute joy to be around. In addition to her academic dedication, Karlie is also involved in cross country and impressively managed to place very high in her first race of the season. With her bright attitude and resilient work ethic, Karlie is a highly deserving recipient of this recognition.
Teacher of the Month - Dillon Landewee
Dillon is recognized by his colleagues for his dedication to students, positive attitude, and willingness to go above and beyond each day. He is organized, approachable, and always ready to support both students and staff. Dillon takes the time to modify assignments, provide accommodations, and explain concepts in ways that help every student succeed. His colleagues appreciate how well he knows his students, stays on top of their progress, and genuinely wants what is best for each of them. His fun personality, caring nature, and ability to connect with students make him a favorite among the kids and a wonderful role model for our young men. Thank you, Dillon, for making a difference in the lives of our Bluejays every day! We are fortunate to have you at Oak Ridge!
Staff Member of the Month - Mike Blechle
Mike is recognized by his colleagues for his outstanding work ethic, willingness to help, and positive attitude that brightens the day of everyone around him. No matter what challenges come his way, Mike always seems to greet others with a smile and a great attitude. He works tirelessly behind the scenes to keep our school running smoothly, often going above and beyond his regular duties to help with special events, unexpected maintenance issues, and even those not-so-pleasant restroom situations! His dedication, dependability, and willingness to tackle any job, big or small, do not go unnoticed. His colleagues appreciate not only how hard he works but also the positivity he brings to our school each and every day. Thank you, Mike, for all you do to keep Oak Ridge a great place to learn and work! Your hard work, positive spirit, and dedication to our Bluejay family are truly appreciated!
