5th Grade Food Drive: November 14th - 18th! 5th Grade Food Drive: November 14th - 18th!

Fifth grade will be hosting a food drive next week, from November 14th through the 18th. We are hoping to end hunger this holiday season for our community.

Please bring in pre-packaged or canned food items like the following: soup, canned fruit, canned vegetables, macaroni and cheese, spaghetti, spaghetti sauce, pancake mix and syrup, tuna, tuna helper, beef stew, canned chicken, and cereal. Do not bring in any water.

The class that collects the most food items will win an ice cream party!

Remember the food drive starts on Monday, so please start collecting any spare food that you have at home.

Thank you so much! Let’s do our part to help end hunger this holiday season.

No envíen agua.

5th graders walked the neighborhoods around SES dropping off bags to surrounding neighbors. The goal is for neighbors to fill up the bags with food to support the drive.

Notes from our Nurse! Notes from our Nurse!

The clinic is running short on uniform pants for students to borrow in case of accidents or spills. If your student has borrowed pants from the clinic, please wash and return them. If you have pants that you would like to donate to the clinic, we would love to have those also! Our biggest need is sizes 5-8 in boys and girls.

Transportation & Dismissal Procedures! Transportation & Dismissal Procedures!

Parents, we need your help!

The end of the day can be crazy if we have lots of last minute changes to how students are getting home. We understand that exceptions and emergencies will come up, but on a day to day, please try to follow the guidelines below.

  • Please call the school when there will be a change in transportation. Teachers often don't get a chance to check email or parent square during the school day. A phone call ensures we get the message! A student telling us a transportation change is not enough-we need the phone call to ensure everyone gets home safely!

  • Please try to call with transportation changes prior to 2:00.

  • If you plan to pick your child up early, it would also be helpful if you called in ahead of time, especially if you plan to pick them up close to dismissal time. This will allow us to be prepared and not have to "hunt them down" as everyone is transitioning out to buses.

Thanks for your help with this!
