Update: September 9
We have LOTS of fun happenings over the next couple of weeks!
- For our Grandparents' Breakfast tomorrow morning (7:15-8:00), each student and grandparent is invited to enter from the front porch into our indicated door to enjoy a "grab and go" style breakfast item (banana, muffin, etc) and sit with their grandchild in a section of our cafeteria to visit. Students need to arrive with their adult. It is a fun time for our students to enjoy a visit with their Grandparent!
Update: September 1
We appreciate your children attending school today and your patience while we await the decision for school tomorrow, September 2. While monitoring the incoming weather, we are making a few adjustments to help support safety for our students, families, and staff.

- Hope PTO Meeting is now scheduled for Friday at 1:00 in The Meeting Room. *Previously scheduled for Wednesday at 9:00.
- Dismissal this afternoon: We will begin dismissal procedures 15 minutes earlier today to support safety. If your child is normally a "walker or bike rider" and it is actively raining, students will be added to the car rider line for safe dismissal. If you would like to make an actual change for your child to be a car rider as a precaution, please email a picture of your ID and your request information to contacthope@conroeisd.net by 2:00 today.
A Message from Mrs. Upshaw
Thank you for a strong start to the 2026-2027 school year! We have welcomed lots of new families, highlighted several students for being "Simply the Best", celebrated our "B" State Accountability rating, and are in the middle of our beginning of year MAP assessments to start our growth journey for this school year.
In order for children to reach and even exceed their potential, it is important for each student to arrive on time and ready to learn daily. Attendance is a very important indicator for student success! Healthy habits such as evening and morning routines, adequate sleep, healthy food, and completing the school day make a huge difference for our students. One of our student-centered goals for this school year is to achieve at least 95% attendance for the school year and we need your help. We look forward to celebrating student attendance each quarter and, even more, to ensuring our students are present and learning!

Important Reminders from our Parent Guidelines
Arrival and Dismissal
Early Arrival is 7:00-7:30 at Car Rider daily. This is for students successful independently walking into and waiting in the cafeteria with a 44:1 (student to staff) ratio.
Breakfast is served 7:00-7:55 daily. Students may eat breakfast as they arrive but should arrive by 7:45 to allow time to finish eating before instruction begins.
Arrival for the school day begins at 7:30 daily. This is for all students.
Car Riders: Cars must remain in the car rider line and not parked. Students should be ready to exit the right side of the car when the parent stops at a cone. Do not allow your children to exit the car from the left side or when not at a cone. The cones are staffed for safety purposes and allowing your child to exit in any other location is not safe.
At 7:55 duty staff leave their duty to begin instruction. Parents must PARK (not stop in the driveway) and walk their child to the front office to be checked in as tardy. A sign is displayed as an additional visual.
Tardies: Student tardies are entered into the system beginning at 7:55. They receive a tardy pass to bring to their teacher.
Traffic safety reminder- The North crosswalk (closest to 3083) is not a "four-way stop" with stop signs. Vehicles are expected to stop for pedestrians and will be signaled by the crossing guard lifting the sign. Creating a "four-way stop" causes traffic to back up on Granger Pines Way and 3083.
Arrival traffic flow- As you arrive in the car rider line, utilize TWO lanes around the driveway until right before the cones. At this location, merge (taking turns, zipper-style) into one lane for student drop off AT the cones. Lining up in two lanes until this point helps to prevent vehicles from blocking Granger Pines Way.
Instruction STARTS at 7:55 daily. Students arriving after are marked tardy.
Instruction ENDS at 3:10 daily. This means dismissal to cars and buses begins around 3:15.
Pre-K and Kindergarten parents must be present WITH the PK/K Bus sign at the stop in order for your child to be dropped off. If you do not have the sign, the bus driver will return your child to school and the late pick up is documented.
Walker/Biker is for students who live in close proximity to the school (Granger Pines) only. It is offered to these families because they do not qualify for bus services. A permission slip is required and remains on file to ensure appropriate assignment. Parents picking up students who are not "independent walkers" must present their student sign at pick up.
The full Parent Guideline document is available in The Parent Dashboard in English and Spanish.

Our afternoon Student Group options will be shared later this month! Our teacher sponsors are working hard to organize extra-curricular groups for our students. If you would like to volunteer to support a Student Group each Monday afterschool, please email contacthope@conroeisd.net with details.
