Dear DMS Families,
We had another amazing week filled with learning here at DMS. As a friendly reminder, we are asking that students do not bring personal fidgets into classrooms. Personal fidgets have become a distraction and some have broken causing damage and interruptions to the learning environment.
We realize that fidgets are an important tool to help support some students and want to continue to provide these students with the tools they need to be successful. Therefore, fidget use during the school day will be limited to those provided through Student Services or those available in the classroom. These fidgets are selected specifically for classroom use and are designed to be safe and appropriate for the classroom. Our intention is to support students while ensuring that our learning spaces are free from distractions. We appreciate your partnership and understanding.
Our Unified Basketball Team played their first game at the DR Unified Jamboree. Our students played with heart and showed great sportsmanship and teamwork. We are so proud of them and look forward to cheering them on afterschool on Thursday as they play against West Bridgewater.
If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out.
Warmly,
Dr. Cheryl Leandro, Principal cleandro@drregional.org

ππ BUS SAFETY REMINDERS FOR ALL FAMILIES ππ
A reminder for all members of the Dighton-Rehoboth community of the critical importance of stopping for school buses.
This week, a family reported a serious safety concern in which a vehicle illegally passed a stopped school bus while a student was actively boarding. The busβs red lights were flashing and the stop-arm was extended, and the student was in the stairwell at the time of the incident. Fortunately, no one was injured, but this situation highlights a very real and dangerous risk for our students.
Passing a stopped school bus is not only illegal, it puts children in immediate danger. Students boarding and exiting buses are among the most vulnerable pedestrians on our roadways, and they rely on all drivers to follow the law and exercise caution.
We ask all drivers, parents, guardians, students, and community members, to:
Stop completely when a school bus has its red lights flashing and stop-arm extended, regardless of direction of travel (unless on a divided highway with a physical median).
Be alert in school zones and residential areas, especially during morning and afternoon bus routes.
Model safe and responsible driving behavior for our students.
Ensuring the safety of our children is a shared responsibility. We appreciate your partnership in helping keep every student safe on their way to and from school. Thank you for keeping our community safe.

Technology Repair Fees
Dear Families,
We hope this message finds you well. As part of our commitment to maintaining our technology resources, we wanted to inform you about our updated repair fee structure. The fees were effective as of October 28, 2024. These fees help us cover the cost of repairs when school-issued devices are damaged due to misuse or carelessness. The fees are divided into three tiers, depending on the extent of the damage:
Level 1
Charger, Cover (top or bottom), Touchpad, etc.......$40
Level 2
Keyboard, Monitor.....$75
Level 3
Total Loss/Replacement.....$300
We encourage students to handle their devices with care to avoid any damage and the associated costs. If a device does require repair, the appropriate fee will be communicated to you along with the steps to resolve the issue.
Thank you for your understanding and continued support in keeping our technology in great condition!
