In addition, the Volunteer Background Check Form must be submitted online. Paper copies are not accepted or processed. Contact the campus to check your volunteer status.

Summer Heat Precautions
Comal ISD and UIL have a set of guidelines for summer activities to help ensure students are protected from the summer heat. At DHS, we surpass these requirements and do our best to make students comfortable. Here are some things you can do to help make the first day of band camp outside be less of a shock:
- Drink WATER every day! Start hydrating now!
- Start fixing your sleep schedule if you have been staying up late and sleeping in late!
- Get in the habit of eating breakfast each day. Most students who feel bad in the heat are either dehydrated or haven't eaten breakfast.
- Go outside each day to get used to the heat! Additionally, doing some exercise or activity
- Start preparing clothes for band camp. White t-shirts for band students help keep you cool during a hot practice.
- Have a hat and sunglasses!
- Wear sunscreen when outside.
In case you missed it- OPS Results
This year, DHS submitted 9 songs to the Outstanding Performance Series (OPS) competition and had a fantastic showing at the region and area levels.
Davenport HS is one of two schools in the state to have all three songs advance in the 4A category.
Davenport HS is one of three schools in the state to have all three songs advance in the HS Non-Varsity category.
Davenport HS is the only school to have a song advance to state in the HS Non-Varsity category from a sub non-varsity ensemble.
Davenport HS has the most songs advancing to state in the 2025 OPS competition with 7 songs advancing to the state level.
Davenport HS has the most songs advancing to state from one school in the same year in the 28 year history of the competition.
Congratulations to Danville Middle School Band as well for advancing to State with both bands!
