Dear Hardy Families,

Apologies for the delay in this week’s message. I want to start by saying thank you. Over the past day, I’ve received so many heartfelt messages of support and gratitude following our recent shelter-in-place. Your outpouring of kindness, trust, and love for me and our staff has meant the world. We are truly honored to serve such a compassionate and connected community.

First up—this Friday is a minimum day, with dismissal at 11:55 AM. Please be sure to mark your calendars and make any necessary arrangements for pick-up.

We also want to gently remind families that students should not be dropped off before 7:20 AM. We do not have adult supervision available before that time, so we ask that you wait with your child until our morning staff is on duty. Thank you for helping us prioritize safety.

This Thursday at 6:15 PM is our General PTA Meeting in the auditorium. We’d love for you to join us to hear updates and connect with fellow families!

Now for some amazing news: Hardy has jumped from 19th to 11th place in the Be a Pro and Always Go Attendance Challenge with the Padres! That’s incredible, Owls! Let’s keep the momentum going—every single day counts, and we are on the rise!

And finally—don’t forget to RSVP for one of our most beloved Hardy traditions: the 9th Annual Hardy Campout, happening May 17–18 right here on the Hardy field. The RSVP link can be found in the Dad’s Club section below.

With Gratitude,

Mrs. Aragon

Grades 3-5 - State Testing Reminder – CAASPP

All testing will take place from approximately 8:00–10:00 AM each day.
To ensure a smooth testing environment, we kindly ask that you avoid scheduling any appointments or absences during this time.

Punctuality is essential. Please plan for the construction on Montezuma!
Students who arrive late will not be allowed to enter their classrooms once testing has started and will need to complete the assessment during a scheduled make-up session.

Here are a few ways you can help your child do their best:

  • Get a full night’s sleep before each testing day

  • Eat a healthy breakfast each morning

  • Arrive on time to school

  • Bring a book to read after finishing the test

  • Encourage a positive mindset and remind them to take their time

Thank you in advance for supporting your child’s attendance and readiness during these important weeks. Please save these dates:

  • 5th Grade CAST (Science): April 21–25

  • 3rd–5th Grade CAASPP ELA: April 28–May 2

  • 3rd–5th Grade CAASPP Math: May 5–9

Let’s help our students feel confident, prepared, and supported!
