Go The Extra Mile, It's Never Crowded There
2024-2025 District Theme
Welcome to the 2024-2025 school year! The WCISD's district theme this year is "Go The Extra Mile, It's Never Crowded There!" Our theme serves as a daily reminder that ,as a staff, our goal is to go above and beyond for our students every single day. It is our hope that we model this behavior for our students and encourage them to exceed expectations and to put forth extra effort to achieve their goals. In addition to our district theme, each campus also has a theme that creates an individual feel while still promoting "Go The Extra Mile!" Wolfe City Elementary's theme is "Teamwork Makes The Dreamwork When Going The Extra Mile." Wolfe City Middle School's theme is "Go The Extra Mile For Every Student Every Day." And Wolfe City High School's theme is "United To Go The Extra Mile." Wolfe City ISD would like to invite each of you to participate in Going The Extra Mile this year. As a district and community, we hope to strive for excellence and to create a culture that positively impacts our students, staff and community!

Capturing Kids' Hearts
Connection and Culture
Wolfe City ISD is proud to announce that we are a Capturing Kids' Hearts district for the 2024-2025 school year. CKH is a teaching and learning program that is centered around educators building relationships with students. It is a program focusing on character, social-emotional wellbeing and student connectedness. The program focuses on a relationship-driven campus culture where students feel more connected to their school and staff. Research shows that when done with fidelity, the program leads to higher academic achievement and fewer behavioral issues. Teachers use the EXCEL model to communicate with students, and students create their own rules through a social contract. The goal of Wolfe City ISD is for both staff and students to feel at home each day when they arrive on campus. CKH uses simple concepts such as greeting students at the door every day, giving positive affirmations regularly and celebrating "good things" daily to accomplish this task. WCISD strives to develop a culture where each and every person feels like an important member of the family. This program correlates with the district theme, so they are being promoted simultaneously. Please stay tuned for all of the "Good Things" to come this school year!

Julie Cupp is our district "Go The Extra Mile" award recipient for the month of August. Even though Julie currently serves as the Director of both Finance and Human Resources, she is also responsible for many other district roles, including payroll. Teacher Incentive Allotment
TIA
We are excited to announce that we have officially begun the process of participating in the Texas Teacher Incentive Allotment (TIA). We have been notified that our letter of intent has been accepted by the Texas Education Agency. We are committed to the primary goals of TIA which are recruiting, retaining, and incentivizing the best teachers. TIA is not a grant, but a program that rewards highly effective classroom teachers based on student growth and classroom observations. Districts receive funding to encourage effective teachers to remain in the classroom. Wolfe City ISD is in year one of TIA in which we will create a committee to develop the program specific to Wolfe City.
Texas Strategic Leadership Initiative Grant
TSL
Wolfe City ISD is partnering with the Texas Education Agency and the Region 10 Educational Service Center to participate in the Texas Strategic Leadership Initiative grant for the 2024-2025 school year. The purpose of this initiative is to assess current district practices and to develop a plan for continuous improvement. This process will take place through a steering committee consisting of Wolfe City ISD parents, teachers, staff members, and school board members. The steering committee will serve as representative leaders, thought partners, and champions for a strategic plan to enrich student experiences across the district. The first meeting of four, during the fall semester, was held on August 16, 2024. Through TSL, stakeholders will work together as a team to Go The Extra Mile for our students, staff, and community.
Texas Strategic Staffing
Teacher Residency Program
Wolfe City ISD is proud to announce that we will be partnering with Texas A&M-Commerce and the Region 10 Education Service Center to design and implement a paid teacher residency program. The goal is to recruit and retain high-quality teachers for the students of Wolfe City ISD. The 2024-2025 school year will be the first year of a two-year process.
