Welcome Back Wolverines! A Message From Our Director
Hi Wolverines,
We are excited to kick off another school year at Dauphin County Technical School, and we hope everyone had a chance to relax and recharge over the summer. With fresh energy and new opportunities ahead, this year promises to be an exciting one!
Looking back, last year was filled with important milestones and achievements. Our cafeteria received a fresh new look, we expanded learning opportunities for students, secured grant funding to support equipment, student initiatives, and facility improvements, and strengthened partnerships that directly benefit our programs. Most importantly, our school community grew stronger—working together to provide the very best experience for our students.
This year, we are ready to build on that momentum. With the same energy, creativity, and teamwork, we will continue setting new goals and moving our school forward.
On behalf of our staff, students, and community partners, thank you for your support and commitment to DCTS. Together, we are shaping the future for our students, and we are proud of what we will accomplish in the year ahead.
Here’s to another great year at DCTS!

Back-to-School Welcome from the Assistant Director
As we begin a new school year, I am excited to introduce myself as the Assistant Director at Dauphin County Technical School. Having been part of the DCTS community for many years as a Culinary Arts Instructor, I am honored to step into this role and continue supporting our students, staff, and families in new ways.
My goals this year are centered on strengthening communication, supporting student success, and building connections across our programs. I look forward to collaborating with teachers and staff to ensure our students have the resources and opportunities they need to thrive—both in their technical fields and in their academic studies.
Some of my projects this fall include enhancing program support, fostering stronger partnerships with local industries, and finding new ways to celebrate the achievements of our students. I am especially excited to continue promoting the “Wolverine Way” and the 5 Keys to Success, which guide our school culture and student growth.
I look forward to working with all of you as we begin another year of learning, growth, and opportunity at DCTS. Here’s to a great school year ahead!
— Claire Dacko, Assistant Director

FLEXIBLE INSTRUCTION DAY (FID) INFORMATION AND SCHOOL CLOSURES
Dauphin County Technical School will be taking advantage of our Flexible Instructional Day, (FID), program as outlined by the Pennsylvania Department of Education for inclement weather days. Please note that the district can only use up to five FIDs for the 2024-2025 school year.
Also, please note that not every inclement weather day may be used as a FID. In other words, we may still cancel school days during inclement weather, and we would need to make those days up on the school calendar.
Student participation is required for a successful inclement weather FID. By continuing education during these weather emergencies, it will allow us to preserve our vacation days as scheduled while keeping instruction moving forward.
Teachers will be conducting the day using an abbreviated schedule that will be shared by your building principal. Additionally, teachers and support staff will be available throughout the school day for assistance. Please reach out to your teachers and counselors with any questions you may have. Families will receive additional instructions from the building principal regarding individual school schedules.
