Mr. Jacquez's Message to All

Dear Parents/Guardians/ Students

I am excited to welcome everyone to the start of the 2025-2026 school year! Whether you are returning or joining us for the first time, we are excited to have you as a part of our school family.

This year brings new opportunities for learning, growth, and connection. Our dedicated teachers and staff have been working hard to prepare engaging lessons, meaningful experiences, and a safe, supportive environment where every student can thrive.

Our focus this year will be on academic excellence, building strong character, and fostering a culture of kindness and respect. We believe that when we work together - students, families, and staff - we create the best possible foundation for success.

I encourage parents and guardians to stay involved by communicating regularly with teachers, attending school events, and supporting your child’s learning at home. Together, we can ensure that every student reaches their fullest potential.

Let’s make this year filled with curiosity, courage, and achievement. I can’t wait to see all the wonderful things we will accomplish as a school community.

If you have any questions or concerns do not hesitate to stop by for a visit.

A New Staff Member, but a Familiar Face Around Campus

Mrs. Crystal Chavez

Mrs. Crystal Chavez wanted to return to work here because this is her community, and she is passionate about serving the students who live here. When asked about the most enjoyable part of her job, she shared that it is teaching because the kids are so well-behaved and respectful. She added that everywhere they go, teachers and staff receive compliments about how wonderful the students are.

Quote: “We have the best kids and live in the best community. Working here is the best job to have.”

New Additions to Coronado High

Mr. Wendell Eoff

As you may know, Mr. Eoff was here last year for a short period of time. He returned because there are great kids at our school, and he wanted to teach PE, Agriculture, and coach basketball. For 20 years, he has taught biology. One thing he enjoys about this school is the close-knit community, the great staff, and the outstanding students. Mr. Eoff also brought his wife with him to the school.

Mrs. Denise Eoff

She first came to work here because of her husband, following him to our community. She enjoys being surrounded by the mountains, being part of the community, and working with the school’s students.

Quote: “I want to help the students learn to believe in themselves.”

From Student to Teacher

Ms. Paris Chavez

I started working here to give back to my community, and I truly enjoy working with all the little ones. I have always been motivated to help whenever it is needed, and working here has shown me that I am giving back in the way I have always wanted to. Another great benefit is that it’s so close to home!

Coronado is Now an Additional Campus for Northern New Mexico College

Our school has officially been recognized by Northern New Mexico College (NNMC) as an additional campus, marking a significant milestone in expanding access to higher education within our district. This partnership will allow our students to pursue NNMC degree and certificate programs directly from our campus while opening new Career and Technical Education (CTE) pathways for academic advancement and career readiness. Career and Technical Education (CTE)

We are proud to offer a diverse range of Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs that prepare students for success in college, career, and life. Our pathways include Health Sciences, Audio/Video Production, Mixed Trades (Welding & Plumbing), Hospitality & Culinary Arts, Engineering (SystemsGo), and Agricultural Science. Students gain hands-on skills, earn industry-recognized certifications, and have access to dual credit opportunities through Northern New Mexico College.

Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) concepts are embedded in every program, aligning with the new Career Clusters Framework to ensure students are ready for high-demand careers. Through partnerships with industries, work-based learning experiences, and active participation in Career Technical Student Organizations (CTSOs) such as BPA, FCCLA, FFA, HOSA-Future Health Professionals, National Technical Honor Society, Student Council, and Close Up, our students develop leadership, problem-solving, and teamwork skills that last a lifetime.
