Welcome back to a fantastic new school year with the Shorewood School District! We are so excited to open our doors, fill these hallways with energy, and dive into another wonderful year of learning and growing together.

This year marks a special milestone for both of us—Ms. Jamerson is stepping into her 6th year at SHS, and Principal Kenney is celebrating his 30th year of service to our students and community.

Thank you for being such an incredible community. Let’s make the 2026–2027 school year our best one yet!

Warmly,

AP Jamerson & Principal Kenney

The goal of requiring this new process is to make our attendance procedures more streamlined and timely, utilizing the capabilities of Infinite Campus more fully.

Here is a link to a demonstration video that will assist you in navigating to the correct location within Infinite Campus.

A Message from the Superintendent

Dear Families,

I hope you are enjoying the last few weeks of summer.

School principals, building teams, and District staff have been busy getting ready to welcome students back to school on September 1, and they have planned a number of orientation and meet & greet events before the first bell of the 2026-2027 school year.

In addition to the communication about Act 89 you received last week through Infinite Campus, this newsletter includes additional policy updates, along with reminders that will help get the year off to a smooth start. School principals will be providing further details about these, and will be providing other back-to-school details.

The newsletter also includes information about Rightful Presence, a partnership with the SWiFT Center at the University of Kansas that is now entering its third year, and is key to strategic plan priorities. You will be hearing more about Rightful Presence, and other work that supports our Promise, in the weeks and months ahead.

I am looking forward to the first day of school!

Please reach out to your school principal about any questions or concerns you may have as you begin to receive Back-to-School information.

In Partnership,

Laurie J. Burgos, Ph.D.

Superintendent

Out with the Old, In with the New!

We are excited to share an important update regarding our graduation ordering process!

Moving forward, our school is transitioning away from Jostens and officially partnering with Midwest Scholastic, a trusted local Wisconsin business. Through this new partnership, we are able to provide our families with the same high-quality graduation products—including caps, gowns, stoles, and tassels—at significantly lower prices.

We are thrilled to support a local company while also reducing costs for our graduating class.

What’s Next?

More detailed information regarding how and when to order caps, gowns, stoles, and tassels for the upcoming graduation season will be shared soon. Please keep an eye out for future communications!
