Happy Friday Hawkins,

It has been a busy week here at Hawkins. We had a great surprise as our very own Kim Etheridge was surprised with a teacher’s award called, “Making the Grade” from WHMI, (see above). Everyone who has ever been around Mrs. Etheridge knows how deserving she is and I definitely know how lucky I am to have her on my staff. Mrs. Beach ran an amazing career week, the kids loved it. Thanks to all the parents who came in and helped. Today, the cast of Brighton High School's Frozen treated us to an amazing performance. Mrs. Vermiglio’s daughter Zoey is one of the leads, which made it even more special for the staff and students. If you get a chance, go and see it, you will not be sorry!

I am looking forward to my first weekend in a long time with no reffing. I will be heading to Port Huron tonight to watch my son-in-law play in the Police vs. Fire Hockey game. Tomorrow, we will be celebrating my daughter's baby shower. She is getting so close. Have a great weekend everyone, it looks like we may have some sunshine.

Hawkins students participated in the 2nd Annual Career Exploration Lesson. This exploration included five hands-on stations that allowed students to dig deeper into various career cluster categories. These interactive stations provided students with the opportunity to explore potential career paths, and gain insight into different industries including:

  • STEAM: Paleontology
  • Health Science: Veterinary
  • Architecture: Building/Construction/Design
  • Public Safety: Military
  • Arts, AV/Tech, Communications: Photography

Mrs. Beach created these experiences to help students get excited to learn about different areas of work that they may not know about yet. This event would not have been possible without our Hawkins parent volunteers! Thank you so much for making this event such a success! Your child will be bringing home a packet with information about this experience so that she can share it with you at home!

Brighton High School Musical Theatre Presents Disney’s Frozen

Brighton High School Musical Theatre Presents Disney’s Frozen March 13–22, 2026

BRIGHTON, Mich. (Feb. 3, 2026) — For the first time in forever, experience the musical phenomenon that has taken the world by storm as Brighton Musical presents Disney’s Frozen, with seven performances March 13–22, 2026, at the Brighton Center for the Performing Arts.

Based on the Academy Award®–winning animated feature film, Disney’s Frozen includes all the film’s beloved songs by Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez, along with new music written exclusively for the stage.

In the beautiful mountainous kingdom of Arendelle, princesses Anna and Elsa grow up sheltered inside their castle, isolated from the world and increasingly distant from each other. When Elsa is crowned queen, the magical powers she’s desperately tried to conceal from her sister take control, and she flees into the mountains. As a ferocious winter descends on Arendelle, Anna sets off on an epic journey to find Elsa and bring her home — with the help of hardworking ice harvester Kristoff, his loyal reindeer Sven, and a happy-go-lucky snowman named Olaf.

Full of magic, humor, and a stunning musical score, Frozen is a powerful tale of sisterhood, acceptance, and finding the true meaning of love.

Please make sure your child has an extra set of clothes in their backpack. Accidents happen while your child is at school (bathroom accidents, playground mishaps, lunchroom spills, ripped or torn clothes, etc.) and we do not have extra clothes to lend out. Having an extra set here at school saves parents from having to make a trip to Hawkins during the day. We appreciate your help!
