November is here, and we have so much to celebrate together! This month is filled with exciting student performances, family events, opportunities to spread kindness, and activities that bring our school community together. We invite you to join us for special events like Library Night, Fall Festival, Family Engagement Week, Coffee with the Principal(with an optional school tour), and our annual Turkey Trot.

As we approach the Thanksgiving season, we are especially grateful for your partnership and support. Thank you for being such an important part of our Rees PVAA family. We look forward to making wonderful memories with our students and families this month!

• Welcome to our new Piano Teacher, Mr. Furney! Students in Kinder-4th Grade attend Piano as part of their elective rotation.
• Students in 1st & 2nd grade may now attend our Connect, Create, and Shine morning PVAA enrichment time.

• For the safety and security of our school community, the front entrance will be locked throughout the school day. All visitors will need to ring the buzzer located next to the camera at the front door and wait to be admitted. We appreciate your support in helping us keep our campus safe.

Reminder: In order to accommodate parents and students, parent lunches will continue to be staggered to ensure we have enough space for students and visitors. Below are the designated days for the grade levels and a few reminders:

• Monday's-Pre-Kindergarten/Kindergarten (parents eat at designated tables on stage or in foyer)
• Tuesday's-1st Grade (parents eat on the stage with their child)
• Wednesday's-2nd Grade (parents eat on the stage with their child)
• Thursday's-3rd Grade (parents eat on the stage with their child)
• Friday's-4th Grade (parents eat on the stage with their child)

• Parent lunches take place during the student's lunch time (see grade-level newsletter for exact times)
• Parent lunches are limited to 2 guests, due to spacing
• You may bring lunch for your child only
• If you take pictures, it may only be of your child

Students may wear BLUE, with jeans, on Thursday's in celebration of our character trait.

Make your child feel like a star! Celebrate their birthday with a personalized "Happy Birthday" message on our school marquee for just $15 for their entire birthday month-memories that shine bright!

Come join us for Coffee with the Principal on November 20th at 7:30 a.m. Students may join their parents from 7:30-7:45 a.m. Our student ambassadors will provide optional student-led tours of the school.

Rees Elementary

Flem Rees Elementary School opened its doors to 650 students on August 20, 1983. It was the thirteenth elementary school built in the Alief Independent School District. In 2024, Rees Elementary began it's transition to a Performing and Visual Arts Academy.
