A Celebration of Diversity and Community!

CultureFestA Celebration of Diversity and Community!

Message from the Lowell Diversity & Belonging Council Message from the Lowell Diversity & Belonging Council

Dear Lowell School Families,

We hope this message finds you well and filled with excitement as we extend a heartfelt invitation to CultureFest 2024!

CultureFest (formerly International Night) is an annual event that celebrates the rich tapestry of cultures within our school community. It's a fantastic opportunity for families to come together, share their traditions, and embrace the diversity that makes our school so special.

Event Details

Date: Tuesday, January 23, 2024

Time: 6:00pm-7:30pm
Location: Lowell Gymnasium and Cafeteria

What to Expect:

1. International Cuisine: Indulge your taste buds with a feast of flavors! Lowell families and local restaurants will be showcasing their culinary talents, offering a delicious array of international cuisine in the cafeteria.

2. Family-Hosted Tables: In the gym, explore the vibrant displays hosted by our school families. Each table represents a unique culture, which may include artifacts, traditional clothing, and/or activities. It's a chance to learn, engage, and celebrate our global community. To make this experience even more interactive, kids can grab their passports upon entry and collect "stamps" at each table they visit. It's a fun and educational way to learn about different cultures.

3. Performances: Enjoy cultural performances that will grace the stage throughout the event. Performances will include a Turkish halay, Irish step dancers, and salsa lessons! Attendees are also encouraged to come dressed in the traditional clothing of their cultures. We will have an informal "fashion show" for anyone who wants to participate.

4. Raffle Prizes: Get ready for some exciting raffle prizes! Don't miss the chance to win gift cards generously donated by local restaurants. We will announce raffle winners after our performances.

Seeking Volunteers: In order to make this event as smooth and successful as possible, we are in need of helping hands. If you'd like to volunteer, please sign up here.

CultureFest is not just an event; it's a celebration of who we are as a school community. Let's come together to embrace, learn, and create lasting memories.

We look forward to seeing you there!
