Jarrell ISD Monday Memo
February 23, 2026
Jarrell ISD is proud to announce that for the second year in a row, we have been named a District of Distinction in Career and Technical Education by the Career and Technical Association of Texas (CTAT). Of more than 1,200 school districts in Texas, Jarrell ISD is one of 70 to earn this prestigious honor.
The award comes at a perfect time. February is Career and Technical Education (CTE) Month. The month-long event is a designated time to recognize and raise awareness about the importance of career and technical education in schools. CTE pathways allow students to apply their classroom knowledge in real-world settings and gain hands-on work experience that can lead to successful careers in various fields upon graduating from high school.
In the past few years, we have expanded our CTE courses and programs to offer students more opportunities. Below are some of the courses we offer.
- Aerospace Engineering.

Students also participate in organizations such as FFA. Today is the beginning of FFA Week. Our FFA courses, such as Animal Sciences, Floral Design, and welding, offer students many opportunities. Watch the video below to hear what FFA students have to say.
Through CTE pathways, our students can earn industry-based certifications (IBC) that show their skills and knowledge in specific fields. These certifications provide a competitive edge and demonstrate their readiness to enter the workforce directly out of high school.
Career and Technical Education helps students become well-prepared, job-ready individuals who can thrive in the ever-changing world of work.
