Weekly Mallard Memo #9-October 12-16
Mrs. Kristy Ryan, Interim Principal
A Message from Mrs. Ryan...
Thank you!
Dear Mallard Community,
As many of you know, I have had the privilege of serving as your Assistant Principal. Today, I am honored, humbled, and excited to step into a new role as your Interim Principal.
This is my 21st year with Currituck County Schools. Having been a part of the Mallard family for the past 8 years, I know firsthand what an incredible, dedicated community we have here. Because I am deeply familiar with our students, our staff, and our daily routines, my absolute priority is to ensure continuity, stability, and a seamless transition for everyone.
Our focus remains exactly where it belongs: on the academic success, safety, and well-being of our students. Because I already know so many of your children, I am eager to keep supporting them and watching them thrive from this new vantage point.
Thank you for your continued partnership, unwavering support, and genuine trust. Please feel free to reach out to me at any time—my door remains open, just as it always has been.
Warmly,
Mrs. Ryan

WT Griggs Elementary Media Center Read-A-Thon!
Our school Read-A-Thon begins on Monday October 12, 2026 and is sure to be a fun and exciting event. We understand that your time is valuable. We also know that providing the best education for your child is important. That's why we are encouraging everyone to activate their student's Read-A-Thon account as soon as possible. The instructions are straightforward, making it quick and hassle-free, and it should take less than 5 minutes of your time. This account will serve as a hub for recording and monitoring your child's progress as a Reader in the event, and for you to share their Read-A-Thon message with friends and family. Use the link below to activate your student's Reader account: https://www.read-a-thon.com/readers/r/CTkSQY/1?utm=email Thank you so much for your participation and support.
