EJMS Jaguar Weekly May 25 - June 1

EJMS Families,

I want to thank each and everyone of our families for all of their support this year and for making this a great school year! We are proud of our Jaguar students and hope everyone has a great summer break! We have a busy last five days of the school year!

Summer Learning through iReady

What we know about students who use i-Ready:

Overall, students using i-Ready for Reading experienced score gains 46% greater than those not using i-Ready. Students across all grades showed greater growth, with grade level results ranging from 5% to 84% greater. Students using i-Ready for Mathematics experienced score gains 38% greater than those not using i-Ready. Students across all grades showed greater growth, with grade level results ranging from 20% to 59% greater.

Good News! K-8 students will continue to have access to programs like: iReady Pathways (Reading & Math), Reading A to Z, etc. Students can access these accounts through the Clever log-in.

FOR USER-NAME/PASSWORDS: All parents will have access to their child's username and password inside the parent portal in Infinite Campus (IC). When inside IC Click more and Technology Username for their login information. Please see attached Screenshot.

Reminder about Chromebook Fees (if applicable)

Students will be returning their Chromebooks on Friday, May 22nd and teachers will inspect devices for any unknown damage that has occurred. See below for replacement costs in case they apply to your child:

• $350 for Lost Devices or full replacement cost

• $50 for Screen damage or replacement

• $45 for Keyboards

• $20 for front frame bezel (frame that covers screen)

• $10 hinge cover bar (bar that covers hinge pins)

If you know that your child’s device needs any of the above replacements you can send money to the office and we will process the fee. Otherwise all devices will be assessed for any damages (including other possible damage not listed above) and parents will be notified of the fees incurred through Infinite Campus Parent Portal. Fees can be paid online through Infinite Campus or you can send cash/check. 8th grade students must have fees paid before the end of the school year. 6th and 7th grade students must have all fees paid (and Online Registration completed) prior to next school year in order to begin the scheduling process. If these items are not completed by the end of the school year your child may not get their requested Arts classes.

• Monday, May 25th - Memorial Day (no school)

• Tuesday, May 26th - 8th grade house reveal at EJHS

• Wednesday, May 27th - Field Day, Family game night 4:30-6:00

• Friday, May 29th - Snowie Ice fundraiser for MSD classrooms

• Monday, June 1st - Last day of school

We have had some exciting events with our very photogenic students over the past few weeks, particularly for the eighth graders. We or others on our behalf have taken pictures at these events and wanted to make those available to our families.

If your child has medications from this year, please make arrangements to have those picked up before the last day of school. There will not be anyone at school who can work with those after June 1.
