Please join us in giving a warm "welcome home" to our new Executive Director, Travis Hargreaves. Mr. H is returning to CCA after spending five years in the Kiowa School District, though many will remember him from his impactful tenure as our Assistant Principal.

It is a rare and wonderful opportunity to have a leader who already understands the heart of our organization. We are thrilled to have his experience and passion back on our leadership team!

Additionally, if we reach our goal of having a total of 350 responses on the survey, our students will be rewarded with a free dress day, on Friday, January 30th!

As a parent-involved charter school, this is your chance to help provide both positive and constructive feedback for CCA teachers, the administration, and the Parent Board. Note that the survey is intended to be filled out by parents and guardians, not students.

We are looking for enthusiastic volunteers on Friday, January 9th to hand out informational flyers. You will be stationed at various student pick-up locations around CCA, making sure parents and guardians are aware of the survey and how their input helps shape our school culture.

Volunteering for an hour on this day will make a huge difference in the survey's success!

Training for new Peer Helpers is scheduled for Friday, January 23, and Friday, January 30. There will be no regular meetings on January 9 or January 16. Regular meetings will resume for all existing and newly trained Peer Helpers on Friday, February 6.

January is School Board Appreciation Month, and we are shouting out the incredible volunteers who lead our K–8 community!

Our Board of Directors works tirelessly behind the scenes to champion our mission and ensure our school has the resources it needs to flourish. As unpaid volunteers, they dedicate countless hours to strategic planning and financial oversight, all to provide the best possible environment for our students and staff.

We are so grateful for their leadership, their heart, and their commitment to our school’s long-term success.

We are committed to keeping our community well-informed. Please read these important updates from our Board of Directors Meeting on December. Highlights include approval of an amended contract for incoming Executive Director Travis Hargreaves, and several key financial actions - unanimously approving the 2026 SRO contract, the 2026-2027 student activity fees, and a furniture purchase for grades 3–8.

We have GREAT NEWS! Our Original Works Online Program is now open for a 2nd Late Order Phase. If you missed the earlier order deadlines or just want to order more, now is the time to do that!

Enter your student’s access code that is found on the Original Works ordering instruction flyer that was sent home previously. If you don’t have your student’s access code, you can email CS@originalworks.com and provide your school name, city and state and your child’s name, grade and teacher. Your student’s access code will be emailed to you.

The orders will arrive at school in late January.

Keep in mind, the items make great gifts for any special day like Birthdays, Mother’s Day, and Father’s Day! And our school continues to earn a profit on every late order placed.
