Letter From the Directors
Dear PCK Families,
It has been a busy and exciting time at PCK, filled with celebrations and important preparations as we make our final push toward the end of the school year.
With CMAS assessments just days away, we want to take a moment to highlight their importance. These assessments provide valuable insight into student learning and help ensure we are delivering the highest quality education to every child. They also give us an opportunity to demonstrate to our community the strength of a PCK education. DCSD continues to be the top-performing district in the Denver Metro area, with PCK leading the way. This success reaffirms that our mission, approach, and daily work are making a meaningful impact.
Strong CMAS performance, along with many other factors, has also contributed to significant recognition for our school. Recently, PCK received a Baa1 rating from Moody’s Ratings for its Charter School Refunding Revenue Bonds. This is an exceptional distinction that reflects our school's strong academic and operations outcomes, robust strategic plan and our sound financial position. Together, these accomplishments speak to the dedication of our students, staff, and community, and position PCK for continued success well into the future.
We are proud to celebrate the reputation that has been thoughtfully built over the past three decades. Thank you for being an essential part of the PCK community and for helping make our school so extraordinary.
Warmly,
Dr. Leanne Weyman

Badge Brief
Hello PCK Families,
In this week’s newsletter, I would like to share a few important reminders regarding our
carpool procedures and safety protocols.
Carpool Information
- Morning Drop-off: Starts at 7:35 a.m. Please refrain from dropping off students before this time, as staff supervision is not available.
- Afternoon Pickup: Starts at 3:10 p.m. and continues until 3:30 p.m., depending on your assigned group.
- Pre-K Parents: If you are picking up a Pre-K student, please do not enter or park in the lot prior to 3:30 p.m. This helps prevent additional congestion for the 3:10, 3:20, and 3:30 p.m. pickup waves.
- Morning Readiness: To help our line move smoothly and quickly, please ensure your children have their jackets on and bags ready before you reach the drop-off point.
Car Seat and Passenger Safety
- Seating: Children under 9 years old must sit in the back seat if one is available.
- Weight Requirements: Under 40 lbs: Must be properly restrained in a rear-facing or forward-facing car seat. Over 40 lbs: Must be in a forward-facing car seat or a booster seat.
- Airbag Safety: While airbags save lives, they can cause serious injury to smaller children. We strongly recommend that all children under the age of 13 sit in the back seat.
Thank you for your cooperation in keeping our school community safe and our carpool
line moving efficiently!
Stay safe,
Deputy Castillo
Spotlight
Last week, our Grow With the Flow elective students had the rewarding opportunity to enjoy the fruits of their labor. After dedicating the second half of the school year to growing vegetables, they harvested their crops and transformed them into fresh salads.
During this class, students learn how to propagate plants from seeds and cuttings (cloning), and grow them using both hydroponic systems and soil. They conduct their own experiments by varying nutrient inputs and environmental conditions to observe how these factors affect plant growth.
Students also design and build creative growing structures by up-cycling water bottles for use in hydroponic or soil-based systems. In addition, they develop essential plant care skills, including pruning, managing lighting, and providing proper nutrients.
Uniforms
One of PCK’s primary uniform providers, Educational Outfitters, is currently offering 20% off all uniform items through Wednesday, April 15.
Following this promotion, additional sales will continue until mid-June at varying discount levels. No code is required, discounts will be applied automatically at checkout.
Educational Outfitters will also be running several other promotions through the end of summer. Please see the flyer below for more details.
Science Fair
We are currently seeking volunteer judges for our upcoming 5th Grade Science Fair, taking place on the morning of Friday, May 15. Ideal judges will have a strong interest in science across any field and enjoy engaging with student projects.
To provide each student with a thorough evaluation, we are looking to recruit a total of nine judges. To ensure fairness and impartiality, we kindly ask that volunteers not have any direct connection to any of the 5th grade students participating in the fair.
If you have any interest in judging for the fair, please contact Mrs. Connelly via email at cconnelly@ckcs.net.
Field Day
We’re looking for volunteers to help make our end-of-year Field Day a success! Volunteers will assist with a variety of activities throughout the day, from organizing games to managing refreshment stations.
If you’re available to help on Thursday, May 28, please take a moment to explore the available volunteer opportunities using the button below.
Yearbooks
Don’t forget to purchase your student’s yearbook for the 2025-26 school year! The deadline is quickly approaching, with the final day for purchases set for Tuesday, April 28.
If this is your first time ordering, you’ll need to create an account using PCK’s unique school code, 1015343699083637, before purchasing a yearbook for your student.
You can purchase yearbooks through the button below.
Late Testing Lab
We would like to inform all families that the Late Testing Lab will be cancelled on Wednesday, April 8 and Thursday, April 9.
We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. If your student intends to go to Late Testing Lab on these days, they should be picked up at their regular carpool time.
Spirit Rock
Help support our graduating 8th grade class! There are still many opportunities to reserve the PCK Spirit Rock during the second half of the school year.
All donations from Spirit Rock rentals during the 2025-26 school year will go to the 8th Grade Graduation to help fund the post-graduation celebration for our 8th grade students.
If you'd like to reserve the Spirit Rock, you can do so by clicking the button below.
Virtual Coffee With the Director
RSVPs are still open for our next Coffee With the Director! This session will focus on PCK’s Strategic Plan and the progress being made to bring it to life. Participants are encouraged to ask questions, share feedback, and learn more about the plan.
To make the event accessible to as many community members as possible, it will be held virtually. Coffee with the Director will take place on Thursday, April 16, from 9:00-10:00 a.m. Please click the button below to RSVP.
Clubs
Please note that Homework Club is cancelled for the first week of CMAS testing, the week of April 6. It will re-open once again starting the week of April 13.
Homework Club
Meeting Dates: Monday-Thursdays, 3:20-4:15 p.m.

From the SAC
Our next meeting will take place on Wednesday, April 8 at 8:15 a.m. This meeting has a virtual option, which can be found below.
We warmly invite the PCK community to join us for an opportunity to engage with our team and learn more about the vital role we play within Parker Core Knowledge.
The SAC serves an essential function by providing accountability in an advisory capacity. Our purpose is to inform, encourage, and create opportunities for parents or guardians to engage meaningfully with the school's performance, budget and improvement plans.
Volunteer Spotlight
For this week’s Volunteer Spotlight, we are proud to recognize the amazing volunteers who stepped up to support our 8th grade students during their field trip to Sky Zone! Renee Derrick, Julie Choe, and Rachel Larson generously gave their time to help retrieve lunch, ensuring our students could fully enjoy their day at the trampoline park.
These dedicated parents have been volunteering at PCK for years, and their continued acts of kindness do not go unnoticed. Their support helps our staff create memorable experiences for students and sends a powerful message that our community truly cares. Because of them, our students feel supported and valued throughout their educational journey.
Thank you, Renee, Julie, and Rachel. Your support goes a long way to supporting our school community.
