Hello, Whip-Pur Families! Hello, Whip-Pur Families!

We want to take a moment to thank all of our HES families for the strong connection you share with our school. Your involvement through volunteering in the library or with Mrs. Rohde and other teachers, attending events, communicating with teachers and myself, or simply encouraging your child to come to school each day makes a tremendous difference in creating a positive and supportive learning environment. We hear our students talking about how they are practicing the Leader in Me habits at home! When school and home work together, students truly do thrive both academically and socially. It's important you know that our staff values the partnership we have with you and appreciate all that you do to make our HES school community such a special place to learn and grow. Here's to another great week! đź’ś

Report Card Update Report Card Update

Our HES students are working hard every single day and it's exciting to see growth in learning, student skills, and social emotional strategies with peers and teachers.

Report cards will also be available for your review on the Parent Portal on 10/26. Your child will bring his/her printed Quarter 1 report card home on Wednesday, 10/28.

It is important that parents/guardians take the time to engage in conversation with their child(ren) regarding growth and progress both academically and socially. In what areas does your child feel successful? What are his/her goals for the 2nd quarter?

Please keep the report card and any additional important papers that are included in the report card envelope. On the envelope, please sign on 1st Quarter Parent Signature line and ask your child to return it to his/her teacher by the following week.

HES will kick off Red Ribbon Week on Monday, 10/26, with “Wear Red Day”. Throughout the week, all classes will take part in Red Ribbon Week themed Social/Emotional lessons. The list of themes is listed below and also in the picture. Our focus areas for the week include saying no to drugs and peer pressure, making good choices, and planning for the future. There will be opportunities to show good character, make good choices, and pledge to be a drug and bully free school!

Optional Spirit Week themes are below:

Monday: Wear red

Tuesday: Wear something to represent your favorite superhero today - a costume, a cape...

Wednesday: Wear Team Gear (jersey/shirt/hat) - "Team up against bullying and unsafe choices!"

Thursday: Wear your Halloween costume - "Say BOO to drugs and bullying!"

Friday: NO SCHOOL
