CME PTO Weekly

We have a TON of information in this newsletter so please take a few minutes and scroll through all of it to stay up to date and prepare your calendars for what’s ahead.

If you have a new kindergartner starting on Monday, please join us before school from 8:00-8:30am to have them “sign” with Copper Mesa! The CME PTO will be outside with a cute set up that’s great for photo ops of their first day, and there will be a form for them to sign with their commitment to kindergarten at CME. After the last bell, we will also be hosting a Boohoo/Woohoo breakfast on the lawn for those of you who will be celebrating, and those of you who may need a little comfort after sending your kindie inside. We hope to see you there, and congratulations on your brand new kindergartner!

We are so excited to be back at school and had a great time seeing you all at the Meet and Greet. Please come join us and celebrate returning to school on August 21st, from 5-7pm at the field adjacent to the school. There will be outdoor games, bounce houses (including a wet one, so bring a towel!), a DJ, raffle, Kona Ice, and a pizza party for the class who has the most attendees. There will also be some fun spirit items available for sale, including our yard signs.

We look forward to getting the community together again!!

We love to see kids taking pictures with our Back to School Spirit Rock. Please share your back to school photos with our Copper Mesa Yearbook Committee at coppermesayearbook@gmail.com Please include your student’s grade and teacher. By sharing your students’ photos with our yearbook committee, you help us create a more memorable yearbook.

One of our biggest and easiest fundraisers has proven to be King Soopers Cards. In just over a year our total donation received is in excess of $15,000. If you haven’t registered your rewards number (phone number) yet, please do so, it’s quick and easy and a great way to earn funds for our school. This money helps us to pay for teacher and school grants and host some of our events.

If you haven’t checked our social media (Instagram: @cmeapto, Facebook: Copper Mesa PTO - CMEA), please do, and follow us for updates and information.

Each year, thanks to our community and fundraising, the PTO orders and provides a free T-shirt to all students and staff based on our school theme for the year. This year's school theme is “Hearts Open, Minds Sharp, Love Everyone”. If you didn’t fill out your child’s shirt size at the Meet and Greet, please let your teacher know ASAP, so we can get these shirts ordered before field trips start.

If you walked through the halls of CME last year, you wouldn't be able to miss all of the incredible art work that your talented kiddos created during Art Class, displayed on the walls! Mrs Burke does some of the most fun projects, and she has some awesome new ideas up her sleeve for this year!

Last year we were able to clear out her wish list, which was AMAZING and so generous!! Those supplies are dwindling though, and could use a refresh. If you're looking for a way to help out this year, please feel free to check out her Amazon wish list and stock the art room back up for this year!

Thank you in advance for your help!! 🎨🖌️

We are looking for some local businesses who would like to get their name out there by sponsoring our school! We have several different sponsorship levels, to fit your financial goals.

Sponsoring your local elementary school is not only a great way to show your support for the school, but it's an easy way to get lots of local eyes on your business! Between banners on the fence outside the school, your logo on the back of the school t-shirt, and shout outs on our website, social media and at events, you'll get your name in front of many new local neighbors.

Please email cmeapto@gmail.com if you'd like some info, have any questions, or are ready to sponsor today!

Got a knack for party planning? Love reaching out to local businesses? Looking to get your hands dirty (We know for a fact there are some interested dads out there!)?

We are always looking for volunteers for Teacher/Staff Appreciation, our Daughter Event, our Son Event, School Beautification, our Spring Fundraiser, etc. If you would like to volunteer with PTO in any way, please let us know.

Watch D.O.G.S. is a program that gives dads the opportunity to spend either a half or whole day in the building with their children. You will help in classrooms and go to lunch and recess with your child.

The purpose of the program:

1. To provide positive male role models for the students, demonstrating by their presence that education is essential.
2. To provide extra sets of eyes and ears to enhance school security and reduce bullying. All dads are encouraged to be a Watch D.O.G.S. Dad at least once a year.

Sign up to volunteer HERE . Please direct any questions about the program to Jeff Stebel, (303) 880-8224, jeffrey.stebel@gmail.com
