🐉💙 FAMILY, LEGACY & LOVE
Happy Grandparents Day, Dealey!
Dear Dealey Families,
Happy Sunday, Dragons! As we prepare for another wonderful week at George B. Dealey Montessori & International Academy, today gives us a special opportunity to celebrate something at the very heart of our school community: FAMILY.
Today, Sunday, September 13, 2026, is Grandparents Day, and we send our warmest wishes to all of the grandparents and grandparent figures who are part of our Dealey family. 💙
Grandparents hold such a special place in the lives of children. They are often our storytellers, our encouragers, our keepers of traditions, and the people who remind us where we come from. Whether they live around the corner or across the world, their love and wisdom help connect generations.
At Dealey, we recognize that family looks different in every home. Parents, grandparents, guardians, siblings, extended family members, and other caring adults all play an important role in helping children feel safe, supported, challenged, and loved.
Every morning when our students walk through our doors, they bring a piece of their families with them—their values, cultures, languages, traditions, experiences, hopes, and dreams. Our responsibility as educators is to honor what families have begun and build upon it through meaningful learning experiences.
That is part of what it means to Explore Deeply. Thrive Globally. 🌎🐉
🇺🇸 Remembering September 11 | Patriot Day
This past Friday, our Dealey community also came together to recognize Patriot Day and remember September 11, 2001.
Throughout our campus, students participated in meaningful, age-appropriate commemorative activities, including songs, poems, classroom discussions, and opportunities for reflection and remembrance.
For many of our students, September 11 is an event they know only through history. As educators and families, we have an opportunity to help the next generation understand not only what happened that day, but also the extraordinary courage, compassion, service, and unity demonstrated by people across our nation in the days that followed.
These moments of remembrance also connect beautifully to the values we work to instill in our Dragons: peace, empathy, citizenship, respect, and care for others.
We are proud of the thoughtful and respectful way our students and staff commemorated Patriot Day. ❤️🤍💙
💙 Family Is Our First Community
As we move through this school year, I continue to be grateful for the partnership of our Dealey families. From supporting learning at home and volunteering through PTA, to attending school events, cheering from the sidelines, asking thoughtful questions, and simply encouraging your child each morning—you are an essential part of what makes Dealey special.
A Grandparents Day Challenge
Today, I encourage our students to spend a little time with a grandparent, elder, or special family member if possible.
Ask them to tell you a story.
Ask about their childhood. Ask about your family's history. Ask about a tradition they remember. Ask what school was like when they were young. Ask what lesson life has taught them that they want you to remember.
Our children can learn so much when we give them opportunities to listen to the generations who came before them.
“The love of a family is life’s greatest blessing.”
To every parent, grandparent, guardian, caregiver, and family member helping one of our Dragons grow: thank you.
Thank you for trusting us with your children. Thank you for partnering with our teachers. Thank you for supporting our campus. And most importantly, thank you for surrounding our students with the love and encouragement they need to become the extraordinary young people we know they can be.
Happy Grandparents Day to our Dealey grandparents and grandparent figures! 💐
Here’s to another wonderful week of learning, growing, exploring, and thriving—together as one Dealey family.
With Dragon Pride, 💙🐉

📢 Important Reminder: Complete Your Student’s SchoolMint Registration Forms
Families, please remember to complete all student registration forms in SchoolMint, even if your child is already enrolled and attending school.
Due to the new Texas SB 12 requirements, updated parent/guardian consent is required for certain school health services each school year. The necessary health consent forms are included in the SchoolMint registration process, so completing these forms helps ensure the clinic has documentation of your wishes regarding your child’s care while at school
Having these forms completed helps prevent delays when your child visits the school clinic and needs care.
Thank you for helping us keep our students healthy, safe, and cared for! ❤️
