2nd Grade Newsletter
September 8-12
Hope everyone had a great Labor Day weekend! The cooler temps were a nice surprise!
This short week we sure did enjoy our learning! We got to change matter by cutting, folding, sanding, and melting materials. We showed appreciation for some important historical citizens and represented numbers up to 1,200 in multiple forms.
Enjoy your weekend,
The Second Grade Team

UIL
We are very excited to share that our students have the opportunity to participate in the University Interscholastic League (UIL) A+ Academics Competition! Students who are interested in learning, practicing, and competing in these events will receive practice materials and resources through Google Classroom to help them prepare for their events at home.
In early November, students will take part in a Campus Meet held after school. This meet will allow them to showcase what they have learned. The ten highest-scoring students in each event per grade level will advance to the Competition Team and represent our campus at the Zone Meet in February. Following the Zone UIL meet, the top six (6) students in each event, in each grade level will advance to the District meet on Saturday, March 7, 2026.
You will be able to indicate areas of interest for your student. Please keep in mind that there may be conflicts with practice and/or competition times, and it may not be possible to participate in multiple events. Windsong Ranch UIL Interest Form
