SchoologySeptember 11, 2026

Dear Washburne Families,

At Washburne, we use Schoology as a live gradebook and learning-management tool to help students and families stay informed about academic progress. Through Schoology, families can view their child’s current grades, monitor assignment completion, and see when work is missing or has not yet been submitted because of an absence.

Checking Schoology together regularly is best practice and it can help families and students identify questions early, create a plan for completing outstanding work, and celebrate progress throughout each grading period. Please keep in mind that grades and assignments may change as teachers assess new work, enter feedback, or provide students time to make up assignments following an absence.

Students also have access to Schoology, and our staff helps teach them how to review their grades, track assignments, and use feedback to guide their learning. We encourage families to make Schoology part of their regular routine so that home and school can work together to support each student’s success.

Progress Reporting & Schoology:

Washburne students receive progress reports three times each year, at the end of each trimester. These reports include teacher comments and information about your child’s progress in class, including academic performance and learning habits. Each progress report reflects a cumulative grade for the trimester. A printed copy is placed in the student file, which follows the student from year to year, and families may also view progress reports in PowerSchool.

Final trimester grades should not come as a surprise to students or families. Schoology is the primary tool we use throughout the trimester to help families stay informed about student performance and progress.

Schoology Access:

There are some changes to the way parent access will be handled in Schoology. Going forward, all accounts will be created automatically through our integration with PowerSchool.

  • If you are a new parent accessing Schoology for the first time, please access https://app.schoology.com/login/forgot, enter your “powerschool” email(what you used to register), and select Send My Login Info. From there, you can follow the link in your email to access your account, where you will be prompted to change your password.

  • If you have an existing account, please note that the password remains the same, and you can login as you typically do. If you have an existing account that is not registered with your “powerschool” email(what you used to register your child in our district)email, we encourage you to follow the steps above to begin using the correct iteration.

Schoology Parent Guide:

You can access A Parents Guide to Schoology here. This will help you set up alerts for your child or how to access the various options in schoology.
