Notes from the Principal -

Good afternoon, Cav Nation! I hope you are enjoying your weekend! Can you believe it is already November? The end of 2026 is around the corner...

First, I want to thank all of you who came to our very first Trunk or Treat! There were so many of you and your families who came out! I truly appreciate all our community partners and staff members who opened their trunks and handed out goodies!

Our Book Fair opened this past Friday. It will be open this entire week. Please encourage your child to make their way into the library and find a great book to read! There are so many options in there! I made my way around Friday so that I could pick out books for my grandkids...πŸ™‚

On Tuesday, we have the opportunity to cheer on both our 7th and 8th grade football teams! They will both be playing in the Championship Games at Leo Buckley Stadium (at Killeen High School)! This is a great opportunity for our students to play in a high school stadium under the big lights and have the big scoreboard shining brightly! Please put on your Cavalier gear and come out and cheer them on to victory!

There will be no after school tutoring on Wednesday. We do have a faculty meeting that afternoon. Please speak with your child about the plan to get home that afternoon.

On Thursday, you have the opportunity to come to campus and see how your child is performing. You will be able to see the goals your child has set for this year as we are ALL working towards growth for all students! If you have not set a time for that afternoon with your child's 2nd period teacher, please reach out to them. I can't wait to see you all there!

As we work towards these goals, we need all students in class and learning. Please encourage your child to stay focused on the instruction. Conversations about academics are a starting point.

I appreciate each and every one of you! With your help, I believe that we are going to continue to see great things at The Charles Patterson Middle School!

Let's have an amazing week of learning!

Time to talk about Capturing Kids Hearts: Time to talk about Capturing Kids Hearts:

At Charles Patterson Middle School, we're building a community where every student feels safe, valued, respected, and connected!

Through Capturing Kids' Hearts (CKH), students work together to create classroom Social Contractsβ€”agreements about how they want to treat one another and how they deserve to be treated.

🌟 Our Cavaliers are putting their Social Contracts into ACTION! Students are encouraged to demonstrate kindness, respect, teamwork, and responsibility through everyday interactions. From recognizing classmates who model positive behaviors to setting personal goals, our students are learning that their choices make a difference!

🏑 Try It at Home: Ask your student, "What's one word from your classroom Social Contract, and how can we practice it at home?"

πŸ§‘πŸ’™ One Team, One Goal: Success! Together, we're building strong relationships and helping every Cavalier shine!

πŸŽ„πŸŽ Cav Tree – Help Bring Joy to Our Cav Kids! πŸŽπŸŽ„

**This holiday season, let's come together as a Cavalier family to make a difference! β€οΈπŸ’™πŸ§‘**

Charles E. Patterson Middle School is excited to announce the return of our **Cav Tree**, a special holiday giving initiative designed to spread joy and brighten the holiday season for students in need at our school.

Our Cav Tree provides an opportunity for staff, families, and community members to **adopt a Cav** and help make their holiday season a little brighter.

🎁 How Does the Cav Tree Work?

Each ornament on our Cav Tree represents a Patterson student who could use a little extra holiday cheer.

Those interested in participating can select a numbered ornament from the tree and receive information about the student's holiday wishes, interests, and needs. Participants then purchase gifts for their adopted Cav and return them to the school for distribution.

**Every gift, no matter how big or small, is an opportunity to make a child feel remembered, valued, and loved this holiday season.**

❀️ How Can You Help?

If you, your family, your organization, or your business would like to adopt a Cav, please contact:

**Mrs. Twila Hill**
