LWHS/MM Protect the Pack -Families
September Update, 9/22/25
Dear Parents and Guardians,
The school year is off to a fantastic start! It’s been wonderful to see students settling into routines, engaging in learning, and embracing the opportunities that come with a new year.
Homecoming is just around the corner, and we’re looking forward to a week full of school spirit, celebration, and community. With the crispness of fall in the air, it's a great time to come together and support one another.
Thank you for your continued partnership and support!

Student Safety Protocol and ALICE
Wednesday, September 24th
Next week, on Wednesday, September 24th, our staff and students will be reviewing, planning and understanding elements of our Student Safety Protocol as well as ALICE training. The purpose of Wednesday’s lessons is so that students are familiar with the expectations and procedures of Student Safety and ALICE if an emergency situation occurs as well as providing the safest environment possible. It is informational and discussion based. Later in the year, the school will run practice drills, and families will be notified.
Student Safety Protocol:(Standard Response Protocol (SRP)
The Standard Response Protocol (SRP) provides consistent, clear, shared language and actions among all students, staff and first responders for all hazards. It is action based, and allows organizations, first responders, students, and parents to share a specific vocabulary for quick and coordinated action.

In the School District of Manawa, we are committed to providing the safest possible environment for our students and staff by taking proactive steps in securing our schools. We want to ensure they have a safe place to learn, work and grow. To maintain our safety standards and adapt to the societal threat of a violent intruder inside our school, we are adopting ALICE proactive strategies.
