Dear Parents/Guardians,

I hope you are well on this beautiful December day!

Thank you to the wonderful parents who decorated our school inside and out to spread holiday cheer! KRS looks incredibly festive thanks to all of you! Also, great thanks to the parents responsible for planning for and working at the KRS Holiday Shop. What a wonderful opportunity to empower the students to give to their families and friends.

On December 15th, the KRS 4th and 5th grade band, orchestra, and chorus students will perform for their families and for the students and teachers. I am so proud of the students for practicing for many months to prepare for the concerts. Thank you to the directors Mrs. Quinlan, Mr. Rossi, and Mrs. Layman for directing, inspiring, and teaching the student performers.

Sing-A-Longs - You are invited!

Please join us on December 20, 2022 in the multi-purpose room for the annual KRS Sing-A-Longs. If your child is in kindergarten, first grade, or second grade, the Sing-A-Long time will be at 9:30 AM. For anyone with a child in third, fourth, or fifth grade, the Sing-A-Long time will be at 10:20 AM. For anyone with children in both Sing-A-Longs, please feel free to participate in both. The Sing-A-Longs are not performances. They are designed to be special times when we may all come together to sing holiday songs.

Report Cards are available in Genesis at 3 PM today.

Report cards will be available for viewing at 3:00 PM on Friday, December 9, 2022. Please call the KRS office if you have any problems viewing your child's report card.

Due to a personnel change, students will not receive a grade in music for the first trimester. We are excited to announce that Ms. Rachel Montagna has agreed to assume the role as Mrs. McEachern’s leave replacement beginning on January 2, 2023.

Star Assessments

Students in grades 1-5 will be completing the reading and mathematics Star assessments in December. You should expect to receive your child's results in the month of January 2023.

The MEF is busy finalizing our fall grant cycle, and we are so excited to share with you the amazing things in store for our schools. This giving season, we hope you will consider giving local and make a donation to the Madison Education Foundation (MEF). Your generous contributions allow us to fund great ideas that inspire educators and energize the academic and creative lives and social emotional health of students in Madison Public Schools.
