What an incredible start to the school year! Our scholars have done an amazing job navigating middle school. The hallways were clear, students arrived in class ready to learn, and classrooms were filled with scholars learning and thriving. Lunch was fun, orderly, and full of positive energy. Throughout the day, everything felt structured, calm, and purposeful. Lots of smiles and laughter!

I am grateful to our Grizzly families for trusting us with your amazing children. We are off to a strong start, and I cannot wait to see what we accomplish together this year!

Fall sports will start after school on the first day of school (Sep. 2nd).

Practices start at 2:30pm and typically end around 4:30pm. Please double check with their coach on the exact end time.

**Requirements for all sports: Current sports physical (good for 2 years), Enrollment in Final Forms & purchase ASB card for $15 in the office.

Student athletes cannot attend practice without a current sports physical (even if they are not participating). We do not allow visitors to attend sports practices. We encourage everyone to attend the games and cheer the team on!

**Equipment, including sports uniforms will need to be returned at the conclusion of the season. Fines will be issued for any items not returned**

Hello Federal Way Public Schools Parents and Guardians of Scholars in Grades 6-12.

We are excited to share that we’ve partnered with an online forms and data management service for athletic participation forms. All FWPS scholar-athletes will use this service, FinalForms, to complete athletic participation forms.

This service streamlines the paperwork process by allowing you to complete and sign athletic participation forms for your students online and saving data from season-to-season and year-to-year.

This means that you will never need to enter the same information twice! You may review your child’s data at any time to verify it is current. You will be required to sign your forms once per year and after any update.

Click on the Parent Playbook (attached) to get started in FinalForms. If you require any support during the process, scroll to the page bottom and click “Use Support”. We are asking that ALL parents of athletes use FinalForms. Don't forget to complete the annual Child Nutrition and Education Benefit (CNEEB) Application starting August 1.

FWPS receives funding to offer free breakfast and lunch to all students through the completion of CNEEB applications. In addition to free meals, families may also qualify for the following perks:

• Fee waivers for ASB cards, clubs, membership dues, college applications and tests, and other school activities and events
• Scholarships, including College Bound, which provides free public college tuition for qualifying students
• Low-cost technology and reduced internet costs
• Right At School childcare discounts, making before and after-school childcare more affordable
