Safety Drill Recap Our students did an outstanding job completing our recent safety drills, which included two fire drills, a lockdown drill, and a secure drill. Please remind your children that the most important part of any drill is staying quiet and following adult instructions to keep everyone safe.

Terrific and Tenacious Tigers
Fridays are our spirit day, we celebrated our Terrific and Tenacious Tigers for demonstrating exceptional respect, responsibility, and restorative practices.
Our Tenacious and Terrific Tigers are recognized for their commitment to respect, responsibility, and restorative practices. Individual photos and awards will be showcased in our cafeteria for everyone to see. Their achievements were announced to the entire school today, and students will bring their awards home next week (unless the teacher puts them on display in the classroom a bit longer).
Please join us in applauding these incredible young leaders!

Restorative Practices & Social Emotional Learning
Aug 31- Sep 11th Paying Attention
If you would like to reinforce the lessons on Paying Attention we recommend 4 popular kids books that could lead to great discussions. These could also probably be found on utube as well Look out, Patrick by Geraghly, Come Along, Daisy by Simmons, Pay Attention, Emily Brown! by Burton, and Brown bear, Brown bear, What do you say? by Martin Jr. Sample Qs: Did the main character pay attention? What happened because they weren't paying attention? In order to learn and stay safe we need to pay attention.
The Goal: Remind students we pay attention with our eyes and ears but not our mouths. When we pay attention we watch and listen but we do not talk.
Sep. 14th-Sep. 25th Lesson Getting the Teacher's Attention Appropriately
If you would like to reinforce the lessons on Getting Attention Appropriately we recommend 4 popular kids books that could lead to great discussions. These could also probably be found on utube as well Interrupting Chicken by Stein, Ivan the Terrier by Calalanotto, Ruby Sings the Blues by Daly, and Babushka's Doll by Polacco Sample Qs: What was the character's big problem? (loud voice/interrupting others) How did other characters like it when that happened?
The Goal: Remind students when we want the teacher's attention We raise our hand. In order to be fair and give everyone a chance to answer. Plus, you are showing and using great manners.
Summary/Key Phrase: When we want the teacher's attention, We raise our hand
