Hello all! We love our Como Cougars. One of the ways the Como Booster Club can support the many activities at Como is to sell Como Spiritwear! We could use your help.

What will you do? Help sell spirit wear. You may also help set up or put away the spritwear during the time. It's a fun way to meet people in and around our Como community.

Chamber Concert April 24th at 7:00 PM

The Chamber Concert is a night for students in the music department to perform chamber works - solos, duets, quintets, etc. This small group setting allows musicians to showcase their skills in a more intimate way compared to their normal ensemble. Students will increase self-confidence and gain independence from their conductor through this experience.

The concert will begin at 7:00 in the Como Auditorium. Tickets may be purchased at the door: $5 for students, $7 for adults, or pay what you can (cash/check). Proceeds help us raise funds to support our growing music program!

Earn Free College Credits with PSEO (9th-11th graders) Post Secondary Enrollment Option, or PSEO, allows 10th-12th grade high school students to take classes at local colleges and receive both college and high school credit. 9th-11th grade students must notify their school counselor by May 30 if they want to participate in PSEO for the 2021-2022 school year.

The Como Park Girls Basketball Program fell short losing to Minneapolis Roosevelt 50 to 49, in a great battle to go to the State Tournament! They played hard from the jump ball to the last buzzer!

We lost big pieces to season ending injuries before the season started and another during the season! We want to wish Asia Mohammed, Sahara Hinton, Cecelia Davis and Jaylin Walker a successful recovery, mentally and physically.

These young ladies had an amazing season and we want to wish all of our seniors: Alice Wagner-Hempstad, Greta Seppenan, Sahara Hinton and Asia Mohammed nothing but the best in the next chapter of their lives as they set forth to college next fall!

In our Academy of Leadership MCJROTC news, 64 Cadets wrapped up their three-day annual Cadet Winter Leadership Camp this past weekend up in Northern Minnesota . Skiing Skills, Archery, Horseback Riding, Hikes, Raider Training, Home cooked meals, MRE's. and lastly camping outdoors under freezing winter conditions. Motivated and dedicated, they all got just a small taste of a-day-in the life of a United States Marine. Ooh Rah!

Wow! Thank you, Como Park Cadets & Staff. With great success and thanks to the Senior Cadet Leadership, the Como Park MCJROTC program went through its semi-annual "TMCI" IG inspection. It lasted two days and included all aspects of the program compliance, safety, operations, training, period of instruction, education, logistics, administration, policies, procedures, uniforms, cleanliness, cadet events, morale, and lastly, all hands formation & uniform inspection. That JROTC Cougar pride was alive, and all cadet's prep and practice paid off by earning the grade of "EXCEEDS EXPECTATIONS" in all areas for the first time ever at CPSHS. Thank you all very much.

The Como HOSA club partnered with Blkpatch to assemble culturally inclusive first aid kits to be distributed to organizations working with youth in the community. Blkpatch is an organization that has created bandages and other first aid items in a wide variety of skin tones. HOSA students plan to continue this partnership and plan for future service projects. The Como HOSA club is a program for students who are interested in entering the health care field. We meet each Wednesday during seminar. All are welcome.

Como Park Senior High School Education Pathway students recently attended two great field trips. They volunteered with 5th graders from Riverview Elementary at their Junior Achievement BizTown experience. The Como Park Senior students were busy all day with helping the 5th graders to run their businesses and earn money to pay back their business loans! It was a great learning experience for everyone. Then the Education Pathway students visited Minneapolis College for Education Day, where they heard from a former MN Teacher of the Year and learned about what is new in the field of education.
