BoosterBucks Fundraiser Ongoing

Our fall BoosterBucks fundraising efforts have started. The BoosterBucks fundraiser is an important part of our Marching Band budget, helping us provide the equipment, resources, and experiences that make our program possible. In addition to supporting operating expenses, this year we are trying to raise money to purchase new drum major stands.

The dates of the campaign are August 18 - September 17 and our goal is to raise $17,500. We are currently at $2,013.00

We’re asking each family to help spread the word and encourage friends, family members, coworkers, and neighbors to participate. Your student has a unique link with their name attached that they can share with friends and family.

Thank you for supporting FC Bands and helping us make this fundraiser a success! We appreciate everything our band families do to support our students.

UNIFORM REQUIREMENTS

All members of the winds and percussion section will need black bike or compression shorts and a black compression shirt. These should be form fitting and will be worn under our bib pants. Links below are examples from several retailers at various price points. All will work just fine.

Again these are various examples from different retailers and at different price points. Any of them will work great.

Hair

All members who have hair that touch the collar of the uniform or longer must put their hair up. When putting the hair up a bun must sit on the top (high ponytail area) of the head so as to not interfere with putting on or removing the shako. The hair should be slicked up with no wispy/flyaway hairs. Gel or hairspray should be used to slick these to the head. Bobby pins and hair ties used must match the student's hair color. If you have short hair that does not touch the collar it must be styled and have a neat appearance. Below are YouTube tutorials of how to do a bun if you need help/information.

Man Bun Tutorial

Women's Bun Tutorial

Alternate Bun Tutorial

In an effort to present a uniform, professional look, ALL MEMBERS must have natural colored hair. Students with hair dye must have it removed/changed to a natural color prior to our first contest on September 19. Acceptable colors are natural red, brown, black, blonde. Pink, blue, and unnatural red are not acceptable and must be changed. If there is a question, ask the director. Directors will make final determination regarding acceptable hair color. Students who show up on September 19 without adjustments will be sent home and will be ineligible for performance.

Make Up

Make-up is not required but if a member in the Winds or Percussion Sections chooses to wear makeup it should be a natural palette with warm tones (i.e. browns). Members wearing foundations should keep concealer and foundations away from the neckline to prevent the makeup staining the collar of the costume/uniform. I would recommend using waterproof makeup if possible and a strong setting spray after makeup application so keep the makeup from running. Performers will be working hard and sweating during warm up and during the show and we want to prevent makeup from running.

Jewelry

All jewelry must be removed in costume/uniform unless approved in advance by Ms. Nason or Mr. Lemon. All piercings must be removed to keep with a uniformed look among the ensemble. Piercings will remain out for the entirety of the time while members are in costume/uniform. Clear stoppers are acceptable to replace piercings while in uniform.

Nails

Nails must be a neutral/natural color. Nails at excessive lengths may be required to be cut down or removed (acrylics)

Uniform Care

· Please make sure your costume/uniform jacket is always folded neatly when not being worn.

· Shakos should be either worn or carried with shako resting on the forearm and brim facing forward in hand.

· Water is the only consumable allowed while in costume/uniform.

Concert Band Fee Information

Invoices for Fall Semester Concert Band fees have now been sent out.

If you have already paid your class fee by cash or check, please be patient as we work through the invoicing and payment application process. It may take some time for payments to be reflected correctly in our records.

As outlined in Ms. Nason's recent email, students should have received the 2026-27 Handbook Agreement Form. This form details the primary expectations for students and families, as well as information regarding class fees.

The band class fee is $40 per student, per semester, per class and is paid directly to our Band Booster organization. These funds help cover:

  • Contest entry fees
  • Transportation costs
  • Additional educational resources and opportunities for students

If you selected online payment on your agreement form, please wait until you receive your invoice before submitting payment. Invoices will be sent through Booster Hub to the email address provided on your agreement form.

Please also note that you may see a consumable fee listed in Skyward. This is a separate district fee and is not part of the Band Booster class fee. Consumable fees support the purchase of music, method books, and other materials that students will use and keep throughout the school year.

Thank you for your patience and support as we process payments and invoices. If you have any questions, please let us know.

RaiseRight™

Fundraising for YOU - all year round! No selling, no spending extra time or money… just everyday purchases turned into earnings. All of the money you earn goes straight to your student’s band account to use toward their band fees.

How does it work?

Rebates earned are added to your RaiseRight account. Once a month the RaiseRight Coordinator sends a rebate report to the Treasurer so the funds can be applied to your student’s band account. This will show as a credit line item on your monthly statement. The easiest way to earn is by downloading the RaiseRight app on your phone so you can purchase on the go!

You can also use an "online shopping" tool via RaiseRight to stack your earnings. Please note, credits from taking advantage of the "Online Shopping" tool will take longer to show in their booster credits. RaiseRight will not pay out online shopping credits until 45 days after purchase to assure no item have been returned.

Who can use it?

Any parent, grandparent, aunt, uncle, cousin, friend, or neighbor can sign up for an account to help raise money for your student. They don’t have to live in Indianapolis in order to use it, either! With the convenience of the RaiseRight app, out of town friends and relatives can help you earn too!

How much can I earn?

Really, that is up to you! The more you use, the more you earn. Many of our families have offset their fees by as much as HALF just by using RaiseRight.

More information can be found on the FC Bands website at RaiseRight Fundraising.

Sign up now at raiseright.com after getting the enrollment code by emailing raiseright@fcbands.org.
