We're proud to share that the City of Thousand Oaks and Conejo Valley Unified School District landed #6 on the list of 20 American cities with the best public schools!
This recognition comes from Niche's 2026 rankings, which consider factors such as test scores, graduation rates, teacher quality, and parent and student reviews.
We're so grateful for our dedicated educators, phenomenal staff members, supportive families, engaged students, and incredible community partners who make the Conejo Valley the special place it is to learn and grow!

On Wednesday, October 21, 2026, CVUSD celebrates Unity Day, a day when everyone comes together, stands up against bullying, and unites as a whole to promote kindness, acceptance, and inclusion. Celebrated in the United States and around the world since 2011, Unity Day is the most well-known event of National Bullying Prevention Month.
To participate in Unity Day, individuals, schools, communities, and businesses wear or display orange to show support for students who have been bullied, a visual message that no child should ever experience bullying.
The Conejo community is encouraged to wear orange this Wednesday to send a visible message of commitment to kindness, acceptance and inclusion! Click here to read more.
Throughout Red Ribbon Week, CVUSD schools hold special spirit week events to build school connectedness and show our commitment to healthy lifestyles! Click here to learn more.
Family participation and engagement is a key priority of the CVUSD. Our seven Advisory Councils and Committees meet regularly for vibrant discussions, informative presentations, relationship-building activities and more. These meetings are open to all members of our CVUSD community to attend. However, we understand that attending meetings in-person is not always possible.
🌟 The Updates from Advisory Councils/Committees webpage serves as a place to stay informed on updates and actions from each Advisory Council and Committee, with "Up to Five Key Takeaways" from each meeting posted regularly after meetings are held. Student Spotlight: TOHS Lancer Aces Math League Southern California Competition
Congratulations to Thousand Oaks High School student, Andrew C., who earned first place among all 11th graders at the Math League Southern California Qualifier on October 11th. Overall, Andrew placed third in the competition, which earned him a spot at the California State Championship, which will take place in the springtime.
Math League Qualifier is an official regional math competition hosted by mathleague.org where students compete to qualify for higher-level state, national, or international championships. Mathleague.org is the largest network of local and state math competitions at the elementary, middle, and high school levels in the United States and abroad.
Andrew is also the President of Math Lovers Union, student club, at Thousand Oaks High. We wish him all the best in the competition ahead!
