Our PTO sponsored Jog-A-Thon was a huge success this week thanks to the support of our Governor Winslow School families and Mr. Jackson's unwavering commitment to our students. Children jogged on a picture-perfect day to raise money for our wonderful school community. Thanks to those who sponsored our runners, the funds raised will be used for field trips, playground equipment, enrichment programs, and digital learning resources. We are grateful to all who supported this very successful event!

The month of October is fire safety month, and students at GWS learned about fire safety with FireFighter Sargent. They were also given some tips on how to stay safe this Halloween.

• Friday, October 30 - Grade 3 to visit Plymouth Patuxet
• Monday, November 2 - School Store (Gr 1-5)

• Wednesday, November 4 - Parent/Teacher Conferences (by appointment)
• Thursday, November 5 - Parent/Teacher Conferences (by appointment)
• Wednesday, November 11 - No School, Veterans Day
• Monday, November 16 - School Store (Gr 1-5)

GWS will continue to use the PickUp Patrol (PUP) App to help us better manage our dismissal process. PUP allows parents to electronically make daily dismissal changes from a computer or smart phone. Families that have not already registered will receive an email with login information.

Ice cream will be available at lunch every Friday! It would be very helpful if money is preloaded onto your child's School Bucks account. Check your account because several accounts have balances from last year. Siblings cannot share accounts so please make sure to preload each child's individual accounts.

If cash is sent in please label the envelope with your child's name and teacher.

Cost is $1.50 per ice cream.

The 10th Annual Marshfield Elementary School XC Invitational, sponsored by Marshfield Road Runners Youth Track, the Marshfield Boys & Girls Club, Furnace Brook XC/Track & Field, and Marshfield Districtwide PTO will take place Wednesday 11/4/2026 at the the Rockwood Road Field Complex with check-in beginning at 3:00 PM. Calling all creative Marshfield students in grades PK–5! You have a chance to show off your creativity by submitting fun and unique names for Marshfield’s snow plows!

Students can participate individually, as a team, or as an entire class.
