The Wallin Way Weekly Newsletter
Friday, December 5th
Good Evening K9 Families,
What a wonderful week at Wallin Oaks! Even with the cold and snow, our students made the most of it—when we weren’t inside for recess, they had a blast playing in the fresh snow. Our school truly feels like a winter wonderland right now!
Next week is a busy one. We’ll be kicking off iReady testing on Tuesday, December 9th, Wednesday, December 10th, and Thursday, December 11th. This is a great opportunity to see how much our students have grown so far this year. Please encourage your child to get a good night’s sleep and eat a solid breakfast so they can do their very best.
We’re also excited to roll out a Winter Spirit Week! Be sure to check out the full details in the newsletter below.
And—fun news—our Yearbook Cover Contest is officially underway! All students are invited to design a cover for this year’s yearbook. Entries are due by Friday, December 19th. If your child would like to participate, please have them turn in their artwork to the main office.
Wishing everyone a cozy weekend!

School Information
Attendance and Transportation Reminders
We kindly ask all families to notify both the classroom teacher and the main office if your student will be absent for any reason. Clear communication helps us ensure accurate attendance records and maintain a safe, organized school environment.
Additionally, if there are any changes to your child’s transportation plans—such as switching from a bus rider to a car rider—please inform the main office directly. Our office staff will relay the information to the appropriate teacher.
Lastly, for the safety and efficiency of our drop-off procedure, please pull all the way forward in the car line and have students exit the vehicle on the side of the school.
Thank you for helping us keep everything running smoothly!
Pick Up and Drop Off Reminders
Morning Drop Off
For the safety of all students, we kindly ask that families do not park at Ira Jones during morning drop-off. Instead, please use the designated car line, which is designed to keep traffic moving safely and efficiently.
To help maintain a steady flow, we also ask that drivers remain in their vehicles at all times during drop-off. Following these procedures ensures a safe and smooth start to the day for everyone.
Afternoon Pick Up
Please remember to turn off your car while waiting to pick up your student after school. Running cars pose a safety risk for students and teachers walking up and down the car lines, and it's also important to reduce the fumes in the air for everyone’s health. Thank you for helping us keep our school environment safe and healthy!
