River Oaks Elementary 2026-2027
River Oaks Elementary hosted Curriculum Night on Thursday, October 1, 2026. Families visited classrooms to explore what their student(s) are learning in classes this fall. Additionally, families visited the library to learn about the Parent Resource Center. Families can check out five books per student to read at home that match up with what students are learning in class. Books can be kept for two weeks and returned for more. Thank you to all the families that came out to Curriculum Night!
We encourage everyone to wear Blue this Monday, October 5, 2026 in honor of Stomp Out Bullying!
🧦 Socktober 🧦
During the month of October, ROE families are encouraged to bring in new and very gently used socks to donate to local organizations and shelters. Several decorated boxes will be placed in common areas for the sock collections.
Golden Spoon Winners
Students and staff honored the memory of Dolly Parton and her contribution to literacy by dressing in pink, boots, and sparkles.
We love Coastal, Yes we do!

Students in 3rd -5th grades will read different genres based on the challenge sheet. They rate the books and write a three sentence summary of the book.
Every participant that completes the challenge will receive a certificate. The top reader in each class will receive a ribbon and a surprise. The top reader in each grade level will receive a medallion and a treat bag.
ROE Staff will join the challenge by adding their pages read in Beanstack. The library will track their progress with a frosty thermometer. The top three staff readers will receive a gift bag. Students can monitor their teacher's progress and encourage them to read.
Thank you to the amazing ROE PTO for sponsoring the ribbons and prizes!
