πΎ LRC Tech Upgrade and New Collection Coming Soon!
π¨Exciting things are happening in the LRC! π¨
We have a couple new tech additions we want to share with everyone and help spread the word on the release date of our new book collection!
New Self Check-Out Monitor
A huge thank you to our PTO for their generous support! They're in the process of purchasing a brand-new touch screen monitor for our self check-out station. This vibrant, easy-to-use monitor will make the check-out process faster and be more accessible for the vast majority of our students; giving them a much smoother experience.
IR/VR Books are Coming!
There's buzz around the LRC about our upcoming collection of IR/VR (Immersive/Virtual Reality) books! Students have been asking often, and their excitement is contagious.
The good news is that these special books will be ready to check out in early December. Please let your students know they can look forward to getting their hands on them very soon!

π€ LRC Guest Reader Highlights!
Superintendent: Dr. Gordon
Our new books!
Board Member: Mrs. Hancock
What a treat we had in the LRC this past week with two wonderful guest readers!
We were honored to welcome D303 Board Member Mrs. Hancock, who visited Mrs. Haugen's class. She captivated the students with a reading of Vlad the Fabulous Vampire. It was a fantastic story time enjoyed by all!
We also had Superintendent Dr. Gordon stop by to share a reading of Room on the Broom with Mrs. Arcangel's class. The students loved following along with the tale.
In addition to sharing a story, Dr. Gordon generously gifted three new books to our library collection! We are so grateful for this wonderful contribution to our students' reading choices.
Both our guest readers and the students had a marvelous time connecting over a good book. We extend our sincere thanks to Mrs. Hancock and Dr. Gordon for taking the time out of their busy schedules to visit the library and spend time with our amazing students!

Tech Tidbits and Information
Chromebook Troubleshooting Tips
Here's a how-to slideshow with some basic troubleshooting tips for chromebooks. It includes information on how to fix a sideways screen, clearing your cache and turning off accessibility mode.
Vivi Updates - Extended Screen
For those who wanted to extend their desktops instead of mirror your screen you now can! Using the desktop vivi app you can set up multiple screens. Here's a quick how-to from microsoft or please reach out to Kristine to help!
YouTube Update
Elementary students cannot access YouTube as of June 2025. While this has its good points it may create a wrinkle in your teaching if you want students to utilize secondary video sources. But fear not! there is a workaround.
If you want to continue to use YouTube videos and have students access them you can embed them in google slides. If you have any questions about how to embed videos in your slides please reach out to Kristine. :)
Daily Sub Tech Capabilities
New this year, daily subs will use a chromebook issued from the LRC. These devices can connect to Vivi using classlink, however, daily subs do not have the ability to print.
They also do not have access to many Classlink and instructional apps. Please keep this in mind when you are planning an absence.
Below is a snapshot of what you're daily substitute will see in classlink.
