Hello Parents/Guardians,

Student attendance is extremely important. Our data supports that students who regularly attend classes have higher academic achievement. Starting Wednesday, January 22nd, BFA will be activating our Automated Call function to notify parents/guardians if their student is absent and the school has not been notified of their absence. Automated calls will go out the following times:

• 9:30 AM- This is to notify that the student has not arrived to school for their 1st period class
• 12:30 PM- For NCTC Students only- This is to notify that the student has missed their Tech Center Program
• 3:00 PM- This is to notify if the student have missed 1 or more classes during the day

These calls are designed to keep you informed of your student's attendance. Please contact the BFA attendance office prior to the absence to avoid getting unnecessary calls. Please call 802-527-6409 or email bfaattendance@maplerun.org.

The Business Department would like to congratulate the following students on their outstanding performance in Leadership Training. Congratulations Abby Demar, Joslyn Bessette, and Gabe Howrigan!

Congratulations December/January Business Students of the Month Bonni Lunna, Luc Gonyeau, and Aaliah Marsh! The Business Department wants to congratulate and thank Bonni, Luc, and Aaliah for their positive attitudes, being supportive of their classmates, and for demonstrating excellence in Sports & Entertainment Marketing, Entrepreneurship, and Accounting.

On January 4th the dance team hosted our 'Reach For The Stars' dance competition! BFA was excited to host Lamoille Union High School, North Country Union High School, and Colchester High School!

For the first time in program history the Varsity Dance Team placed first in the Pom dance genre! This is only the team's second year competing in this genre. Varsity also placed 3rd in the Jazz category and JV placed 2nd, and 3rd overall!

We will be attending South Burlington's 'Winter Heat' Dance Competition this Saturday at 1pm! Come and cheer the team on!

After exams on January 15th, Emily Richards and Amanda Morong from NCSS provided U Matter Training to members of Hope Happens Here. The Training was made possible by donations from the Afterglow Foundation!

The BFA Bobwhite hockey team volunteered with Sleep in Heavenly Peace - VT, Chittenden Co in Jericho, helping build 52 beds for children in need across several counties.Thank you to SHP, Robin & Joel Danaher, and everyone who made this event possible.

The Bobwhites hosted the Colchester Lakers on Wednesday, Jan. 15th. The Bobwhites’ offense came alive and came away with an exciting 5-3 victory!
