Here's what you need to know...

Who: All Cedar Island students will participate regardless of if they registered or not. Families are invited to come cheer students on!

What: Students will walk, run, and dance their way around designated tracks while families cheer them on.

Where: On the soccer fields on the north side of our school.

When: Friday, September 26 at 10:00am

Why: It's a celebration of all the hard work our students, families, volunteers, and staff have put in over the last 2 weeks!

If you have not done so yet, please REGISTER your student ASAP at https://cedarisland.pledgestar.com/Welcome.html? and SHARE your donation link with friends and family! If you would like to pledge with a check, please have them made out to Cedar Island PTO, and send them in as soon as possible. FUN RUN / STUDENT’S NAME should be in the memo line.

Here is what you need to know about picture day...

• Picture day is Thursday, October 2
• All students will have their picture taken on picture day, during school hours
• 7-10 days after picture day, all families will receive an email with your student's photo gallery from Kemmetmueller
• All orders will be placed online - no envelopes, no paper order forms, no cash/check
• Photos will be delivered directly to your home!
• Picture retake day will be on Wednesday, November 5

Is your child struggling with naming and controlling their emotions?

Are they overwhelmed by little struggles?

Are they going through a lot of changes outside of school and need some extra support?

We are happy to announce that we are once again partnering with Veemah Wellness to offer therapy services here at Cedar Island during the school day. Gentry Taylor is our provider and he is here on a daily basis! If you have interest in your scholar receiving this support, you can reach out to our school social worker, Jennifer Taylor at 763-450-8122 or by email at taylorj2@district279.org to complete the referral process.

**Note** The previous version of this information contained an error, mentioning that this is a free service. Veemah will request insurance information to cover services. However, there is a grant to cover services in the absence of insurance and a sliding fee scale tailored to specific needs. I apologize for any confusion I may have caused.

When you dine at Culver's on October 1, 15% of all sales will be donated to Cedar Island PTO.

We need volunteers to help make the night a success. Please pick a 1 hour time slot and show up a few minutes before to help out! Volunteers and Children are an absolute must to help with the increased traffic. Volunteers and children will be used for cleaning tables and chairs in the dining room, running food out to tables, and greeting guests.
