Seach Weekly Newsletter
Nicole Doherty, Principal
December 21st, 2025
Dear Seach Families,
This week our students in grades 3–5 performed their winter concert, showcasing their hard work and musical talents. Thank you to our families for coming to the show and supporting our students!
Our fifth-grade students also enjoyed a special visit from Mayor Molisse! Recently, the fifth grade students completed their science unit on Earth’s Systems, during which they wrote letters to Mayor Molisse sharing ways we can conserve water in Weymouth. During his visit, Mayor Molisse allowed students to ask additional questions and finished the visit by reading the students a holiday story.
Reminder: Students will no longer be permitted to bring their Chromebooks home. This decision was made carefully and with student learning, device safety, and overall program sustainability in mind. We appreciate your understanding and support as we work to protect our resources and maintain the best possible learning environment for students. If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to the main office.
As we approach the close of the year, I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to our Seach families for being such an important part of our school community. Your partnership, support, and encouragement make a meaningful difference in the lives of our students every day. On behalf of the entire school, I wish you and your loved ones a joyful holiday filled with peace, warmth, and time to connect with one another. We look forward to welcoming everyone back refreshed and ready for a wonderful new year!
This is our Sunday Newsletter of 2025 and they will resume again in 2026! Please be sure to scroll through the entire newsletter for more important information and updates.
Warmly,
Nicole Doherty
Plan Ahead to Stay on Track This Winter Season!
As the winter months bring colder weather and busy schedules, a little preparation can help students stay present, engaged, and ready to learn. Here are a few tips to support strong attendance throughout the season:
Prepare for Winter Weather
Set out clothes the night before, check the weather forecast, and build in extra travel time on snowy or icy mornings. A calm, prepared start helps ensure students arrive safely and on time.
Keep Routines Steady
Holiday events and later evenings can make routines tricky, but consistent bedtimes and morning habits help students stay well-rested and ready for school each day.
Avoid Early Travel Plans
Whenever possible, schedule family trips and appointments outside of school days. This helps students avoid missing important end-of-year learning, activities, and celebrations.
For additional information on how to build the habit of good attendance please click here.

Drama Club is a wonderful opportunity for students to step out of their comfort zones, express themselves, and try something new. All 3rd grade students are invited to join the ensemble, while speaking roles will be offered to 4th and 5th graders.

Important Information
- Report Card Information: You may notice that some standards on your child’s report card are marked NA. This indicates that the learning standard has not yet been taught during the current grading period. All teachers teach the full set of required grade-level standards; however, the order and timing of when each standard is taught may vary based on classroom pacing, instructional resources, and student needs. As the year progresses and these standards are taught, they will be assessed and reported on future report cards.

Weymouth Public Schools Health Services Update
With the colder weather settling in, we’re starting to see more seasonal illnesses going around. Please keep your child home if they are not feeling well — especially if they have a fever, vomiting, diarrhea, or other symptoms that could spread to others. Children should be fever-free for 24 hours without medication before returning to school. Thank you for helping us keep everyone healthy and learning together!
Thank you.
