IPSD CARES Program Update IPSD CARES Program Update

zoom_out_map

Dear Parents and Guardians,

Over the past 14 months, through the IPSD CARES program, we have been incredibly fortunate to offer access to free mental health treatment services to our students across the district. This program was made possible by financial support from Endeavor Health (formerly Edward-Elmhurst Health) and the Illinois Department of Public Health. This initiative has truly made a difference in the lives of many, and for that, we are profoundly grateful.

However, I must inform you
beginning March 15, we will be pausing the grant program for new student referrals for the summer.

Please know that our commitment to supporting the mental health and well-being of our students remains steadfast.
For those students currently in treatment, we are extending the opportunity to complete up to six sessions before the end of April. Furthermore, independent community treatment providers will be available to work with students for care planning beyond this period.

As we pause to reflect and plan for the future, rest assured that we are actively working on how to best resume this program in the fall. Our goal is to continue providing comprehensive mental health support services that meet the evolving needs of our students and community within the financial means of the district.

In closing, I want to express my sincere appreciation for your understanding and patience during this transition period. Together, we will continue to prioritize the well-being of our students and ensure they have access to the support they need to thrive.

Should you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out to us. Thank you once again for your continued partnership and support.

Sincerely,
Adrian B. Talley, Superintendent
