Windsor Families,

It was a great week at Windsor! Parent Teacher Conference sign up links will be emailed out on Monday, October 5th and a separate Halloween email will be sent out on Monday, October 12th.

Just a reminder, there is no adult supervision outside of the building prior to 8:50am, children should go to the door that they enter when they arrive at school. Children should not be playing on the playground prior to the start of the school day.

IMPORTANT: When entering and exiting the building before and after school for CAP, please do not allow anyone to enter with you unless they have their CAP badge. If someone is looking to enter the building without a CAP badge, they need to go through the front office and check in. If the front office is closed, they should come back during regular office hours, 8:00am- 4:00pm. Thank you!

Arrival and Dismissal Information:

-Children should only exit the car on the passenger side of your vehicle.

-There are no dogs allowed on school property during arrival and dismissal.

-Please do not make u-turns out of the drop-off line on Windsor Drive or use the neighbors driveways to turn around in.

-If you are walking to school, please do not cross Windsor Drive in the middle, you must walk to the corner of Windsor and Miner and cross at the crosswalk.

-All bikers must walk their bikes once they arrive on Windsor property/sidewalks, this is also for the safety of all.

Supporting Positive Student Behavior

Across District 25, our schools are committed to creating safe, respectful, and supportive learning environments for every student. To help ensure consistency across all of our buildings, District 25 uses a common framework to define and respond to student behaviors, including tools that help distinguish between minor and major behaviors.

Grounded in our shared expectations to Be Safe, Be Ready, Be Mindful, this approach focuses on clearly teaching expectations, helping students reflect on their actions, their impact on others, and providing opportunities to continue to grow. While each situation and student is unique, using common tools and processes across District 25 helps create a consistent approach for students, staff, and families.

Families can learn more about District 25's approach, including the Elementary School Framework and Middle School Framework, at Safe25.

Food Use in Curriculum

As part of our commitment to student health, wellness, and safety, District 25 is notifying families that some science lessons this school year may involve the use of food or food-related products as instructional tools. Please click on the letter below that corresponds with your child’s grade level for more information about the specific items that may be used.

Cell Phones & Electronic Devices

As we begin the new school year, we want to remind families of our expectations regarding cell phones and other electronic devices at school, including wearables. These expectations are designed to help students stay focused on learning, minimize distractions, and support a positive school environment.

  • Middle school students are expected to turn off electronics and store devices in their middle school locker during the school day.

  • Elementary students are expected to leave electronics in the “off” position and in their backpacks throughout the school day.

  • A supervising teacher may grant permission for them to be used or if needed during an emergency.

  • They may not be used in any manner that will cause disruption to the educational environment or will otherwise violate student conduct rules.

The District will provide access to students who do not own a mobile learning device in circumstances when its use is required for instructional purposes during the day. Electronic devices may be used during the school day if:

  • Use of the device is provided in the student’s IEP, or

  • Permission is received from the student’s teacher with administrator approval

We appreciate your partnership in helping our students be present, engaged, and ready to learn each day. Please take a moment to review the flyer to the right, along with the full policy in the Parent/Student Handbook.
