Attendance Matters!

We know that sometimes children have to miss school due to illness or family emergencies. When that happens, please remember to send a written note or email explaining your child’s absence within three days of their return. Notes help us keep accurate attendance records and ensure your child’s absences are properly excused. Notes can go directly to ALBAttendance@marietta-city.org.

Thank you for helping us keep communication strong and for supporting your child’s consistent attendance—it truly makes a difference in their learning and success at Burruss!

The Global Mindedness Team will be celebrating Veteran's Day using the bulletin board by the Music room again this year. It was so nice to recognize the loved ones of students and staff last year!

Coming home to you soon is your child's custom catalog for the Square 1 Art fundraiser! It features their own name and art on the cover, WITH FREE STICKERS OF THEIR ART!

What is the art show?

Your student has created an original artwork that will be framed to cherish forever! Their artwork, along with the whole school, will be displayed altogether in the gym!

When and where is the art show?

1. Friday, November 14th from 4:30-6:00 PM in the ALB gym (right before the talent show!)

2. The ONLINE art show begins November 7th and goes until November 16th (This is where you can pre-purchase your student’s artwork!)

Purchasing information and how to navigate:

$28 is the price of your student’s framed artwork.

It is highly encouraged to PRE-PURCHASE your student’s work online, however if you wish to purchase the night-of the art show, there will be card only options for you!

1. Click on your school's art show link: https://artomestore.com/collections/burrusselementary30064

2. View your child's framed work of art by searching their name or their homeroom.

3. When you checkout, make sure you continue with the “Ship to School” option!

3. Pre-Purchase the framed artwork to skip the line at the art show! Anyone who pre-purchases their students’ artwork and cannot make it to the art show, please send your student to Mrs. Cantwell’s room the following day/week to take home their framed artwork! 😊

4. You are also able to share your child's art with family and friends for them to purchase a reproduction. Reproductions make a great gift idea for your loved ones!

5. If attending art show: After purchasing/ pre-purchase, please show a volunteer, an Artome Staff member, or Mrs. Cantwell your confirmation email & you will receive your orange bag to check out with!

Last Thing: The company that we work with is doing something special this year! It is called an “Art Angel,” and it is where you can make a *bonus* donation if you feel so inclined!
