From the Desk of the Librarian
With summer quickly approaching, I would just like to encourage everyone to continue reading. Find something you enjoy and read. It doesn’t have to be a huge novel. It can be many small books. Listen to audiobooks. Take younger children to story time at other libraries. Visit the bookmobile when it is in Wilton. The summer bookmobile dates are: June 5, July 10, August 7. Times are 12:30-2:00 each day. More information will come so watch the school website. I am sure there are many ideas for reading incentives on the internet. I have included a Summer Reading BINGO for parents/guardians to use to help encourage their children to read this summer. As for myself, I will be taking novels along when we go camping. Have a great summer, everyone!
Sincerely

Counselor's Corner
Thank you for an amazing school year! Here are a few updates as things wrap up.
Secondary School
As class sign-ups wrap up, please remember that a student can request a meeting with me at any point to help with career or academic advising. Individual meetings to make changes to 4-year rolling plans are an ever-changing, constant process. If you have any questions about graduation requirements, state scholarship requirements, or anything else, please reach out!
The students who will be taking dual credit courses next school year need to make sure that they are checking their emails consistently. There will be many instructions on how to complete tasks and forms to fill out sent to their email. The more we are able to get finished this spring, the less hassle you will have before the August due date!
The Mining Into Careers event features have been an all-around success this school year. I will continue to take student requests on which field to invite into our building. I am excited to announce that around 70% of all high school students attended at least one career feature event over the school year.
The college and career fairs throughout the school year have been successful as well. The exposure to the middle school students has impressed many of the representatives who have come to our school. The high school students have used this well to receive information as they are planning to enter their careers or college careers.
Elementary School
You may have seen a letter that students brought home. I have been meeting with many students and would like to put it into parents or guardians hands of how to continue over the summer. This letter had information on potential referrals to help with support over the summer. If you have ANY questions about this, please reach out to me at any point.
Do not forget this month’s movie recommendation! This includes discussion questions that can help converse at home about various social skills, emotional health, etc. If you partake in this, please let me know how it went. I would love some feedback or even requests for topics for the next school year!
As always, please reach out to me through email at Tiffany.Meier@k12.nd.us if you have any questions or concerns.
Sincerely,
Tiffany Meier
