Principal Message Principal Message

Dear Park Elementary Families,

I am thrilled for the start of April, a month filled with both excitement and important activities for our school. As I planned for this busy month, I initially felt overwhelmed, but I am reminded of the amazing events we have ahead.

April is testing month, and I am eager to see how our students have grown. Our teachers and students have dedicated countless hours to learning, and testing allows us to showcase their hard work. Please talk to your children about the importance of doing their best on these tests. Ensure they get plenty of rest, a nutritious breakfast, and continue to offer them positive encouragement.

In addition to testing, we have some fun events lined up, like the Redo Reading Challenge and exciting track meets. While April is busy, it also promises to be a lot of fun.

Thank you for your unwavering support. We love our students at Park Elementary and are grateful to spend each day with them.

*Note: I am sending home a paper today for Special Considerations for next school year. If you need me to know anything about your child's placement for next year, please fill out this form. It is due on May 2nd.

Fiesta Days Rodeo Reading Challenge- "Morning Campfire" Fiesta Days Rodeo Reading Challenge- "Morning Campfire"

We are excited to announce the Spanish Fork Fiesta Days Redo Reading Challenge! Our goal is for each student to read 41 minutes every day, helping Park Elementary compete for the prize.

To support this effort, we have set up a Morning Campfire in the gym. Students are welcome to come in at 8:00 AM to complete their reading before school starts.

We encourage all students to continue reading as much as possible at home. Your support is crucial to our success in this challenge.

Thank you for helping us foster a love for reading!

Student Attendance Celebration at Springville Recreation Center

We are thrilled to recognize students with 94% attendance during the 4th term with a special outing to the Springville Recreation Center on Mqy 16. Students are requested to wear swimsuits under their clothes to school and bring a towel. They will have the opportunity to swim for approximately 1 hour. After swimming, students will dry off with a towel, board the bus, and then have time to change in the school bathrooms. There will be ample supervision provided by faculty, staff, and lifeguards at the pool.

Schedule:

  • Preschool/Kindergarten: Enjoy a fun "water" day at school during school hours.

  • 10:00-12:00: 1st Grade

  • 11:00-1:00: 2nd & 3rd Grade

  • 12:00-2:00: 4th & 5th Grade

Lunch:
All students will receive a sack lunch from school or may bring their own from home. Each group will have lunch at different times based on bus loading schedules for the Recreation Center.

Additional Information:

  • Older students will assist younger ones in the pool.
  • Please refrain from bringing life jackets or other devises for the pool. We will make sure they stay in the side of the pool that is reserved for them and where they can touch for younger students.
  • Students that don't qualify for the reward party will be in the Library with teachers doing some work from class.

Counselor Corner Counselor Corner

As we begin to wrap up the year, I have completed my Character Trait lessons and thoroughly enjoyed engaging with your children. I will finish up the year by teaching 5th grade students LifeSkills lessons throughout April and May. This month's Mental Health Series information can be found here. Please pay particular attention to Ask A Therapist LIVE on April 16th. This event takes place once a month and offers a unique opportunity for parents to engage directly with a licensed family therapist. Parents can ask questions anonymously and receive personalized answers in real-time. Thanks again for letting me be a part of your children's lives. As always, please let me know if you need anything! Wishing all families a wonderful and vibrant Spring season! -Mrs. Barber
