This Week in Review
Welcome to our latest school update! We have had a wonderful first full week of school, and our students have settled in remarkably well. They have especially enjoyed taking advantage of the great weather during outdoor recess!
Weekly Updates
Academic Progress: Students began their ELA and Math NWEA testing this week.
Pre-K Welcome: Our Pre-K students completed their very first week! After a few initial tears at the start of the week, everyone has embraced their new routines and is enjoying making new friends.
Safety Preparedness: We successfully conducted our first fire drill. The students executed the procedure flawlessly, safely evacuating the building in under five minutes.
Important Reminders
- Timely Arrivals: School and instruction begin promptly at 9:00 AM. Even a five-minute delay causes students to miss key instructional time. While we fully recognize that unexpected morning emergencies occur, consistent punctuality helps ensure a smooth, confident start to your child's day.
- Reporting Absences: If your student will be absent, please notify the main office at 847-872-0255 before 9:00 AM.
- Safety Drills: State-required drills will continue throughout the school year. To reassure our students, teachers thoroughly explain each drill in advance so everyone feels secure and prepared.
- NWEA Testing (Grades K–2): The testing window runs through September 3rd. Please ensure your child arrives on time so they can do their best work.

Arrival and Dismissal Procedures
Arrival
- Door #1 opens at 8:50 a.m.
- Express drop off is located on 22nd street
- Please pull up
- Stay in your vehicle
- A staff member will open the door for your student
- If you would like to park and walk your student up
- Please park on Bethesda north of 22nd street
- Please park on 22nd street east of Bethesda
- After 9:00 drop off will shift to Door #3
Dismissal
- Door #3 will be closed beginning at 3:00 p.m. (noon on early release days)
- Door #1 opens at 3:30 p.m. (12:30 p.m. on early release days)
- Express pick up is located on 22nd street
- Please pull up
- Stay in your vehicle
- A staff member will walk your student to your vehicle
- If you would like to park and pick your student up
- Please park on Bethesda north of 22nd street
- Please park on 22nd street east of Bethesda
- After 3:40 p.m. pick up will shift to Door #3 (12:40 p.m. on early release days)
BOOST Before and After School Care

- Drop off at Door #3
- The cut off time for drop off is 8:30 a.m.
