Dear McKelvey Primary Families,
It has been such a great week so far! Please see the info about PTO bundles below. Once a month we have popcorn days. PTO pops the popcorn and delivers it to us. This is something that you have to pay for so please see the information below.
Thank you for your patience during arrival and dismissal. It always takes longer during the first couple of weeks of school and then we get into a rhythm, the kids understand the procedures, and it moves quicker! Please see my note on dismissal below.
KINDERGARTEN FAMILIES! Please return the yard and door signs to the main entrance by tomorrow.

Please be sure to have your white car plate visible when picking up your child, preferably on the rear view mirror or on the visor of the car. When it is low on the dashboard, I have a hard time seeing the number as you are passing. Car riders will not walk out until 3:55pm, so if you arrive earlier than that, you will have to wait. If you need more car tags, please refer to the link in the Family Digital Hub at the bottom of this newsletter.
Bus riders-Reminder that someone needs to be at the stop to receive their child off of the bus. The stop is noted in the email that you were sent regarding bus numbers and stops. If you have a question or concern about your bus stop, please email transportation. We are unable to make changes at the school. The buses are usually delayed at the beginning of the year and will arrive closer to the estimated time stated on the route email you received.
Always notify the office and the teacher if your child is going to be going home a different way than usual.
Please have your child bring a small snack each day that they are able to open on their own.
We are accepting donations of saltine crackers for emergency purposes if you are able to donate. Please send them to school with your child or bring them to the main office.
Below is a link to our district calendar (click the blue button) as well as a snapshot of the half and no school days throughout the year. We know unplanned absences will occur, but your child's attendance is extremely important. We miss them when they are gone and they miss important learning and social interaction when they are not at school. If possible, when planning for appointments and/or vacations, please attempt to use the afternoons of half days or days off school throughout the year.
This must be done yearly!
If you are in need of assistance with breakfast or lunch money, please complete the Free and Reduced lunch process. This must be done EVERY Year.
