Winter Holiday Begins

We have made it to the holiday break!

The North Little Rock School District will observe the winter holiday beginning Monday through the New Year.

Please be mindful of the following:

All schools and district offices will be closed December 23-January 1.
District offices will reopen Thursday, January 2, 2025.
All schools will reopen on Monday, January 6, 2025. This is a workday for teachers and staff.
Students will return to school on Tuesday, January 7, 2025.

Have a great, restful break!

Teachers of the Year

Please join us in congratulating the 2024-2025 Building-Level Teachers of the Year!

The teachers were voted on by their colleagues for having exemplary traits as an educator and professional. Each of these educators will have the opportunity to apply for NLRSD Teacher of the Year. That individual's name will be revealed at the 2025 Night of Honors, which will take place on Friday, April 18.

Please view the names here.

Book Express Hits the Road

We are so excited that the Book Express is back up and running!

The NLRSD Book Express and Transportation Department joined forces this year to increase access to books, the importance of reading, and advertise about our transportation hiring for Bus Drivers in the North Little Rock Christmas Parade on Sunday. This year's theme was "Christmas Around the World," and we represented The Bahamas!

Thank you to our Transportation Department, the NLR Junior League, Staff, and volunteers who made it possible to pass out beads and books! Merry Christmas from the Book Express!

Board of Education Earns Awards

The North Little Rock Board of Education attended the Arkansas School Board Association (ASBA) Annual Conference earlier this month.

Our Board received the Master Board Award. This recognition goes to each board member for earning 50 or more hours of board development training.

Dr. Rochelle Redus received the Pinnacle Award for attaining at least 200 hours of continuing education through the ASBA.

NLRHS, COE Showcase Fair

Mark your calendar!

North Little Rock High School and the Center of Excellence will hold a school showcase fair on January 16, 2025. This is an opportunity for current students and families and prospective students and families to learn about the offerings at the two schools.

See you there!
