Superior High School 2024/25 Dates
This document is a good resource for trying to plan ahead. We are plugging in dates as we hear of them. This is subject to change, but want to keep you all in the loop.
Family Engagement Opportunities
Fall Conferences are Coming
Save the date! Our Fall Parent/Teacher Conferences are coming up at the end of the month on October 24th and 28th. These conferences are open house style from 3:30-7:30pm. Stop by and touch base with your student's teachers. We will have many other activities and resources in the building during this time. We hope you take this opportunity to connect with us!
Conference Teacher Support
Ope, hey there! We are looking for help supporting SHS teachers during conference nights coming up later in the month. This time, let's do it MIDWESTERN STYLE, don't cha know.
On 10/24 we are hoping for cold salad donations (potato salad, that one with the raman noodles, those "salads" that have cool whip and marshmallows...you know what we mean!)
On 10/28 we are hoping for help providing desserts (dust of Grandma's scotcheroo recipe, those church basement lemon bars....or any desserts you can help provide!)
Teachers love seeing all the support from Spartan families and community during their long nights in the building. Find the sign up here.
Volunteers
If you plan to help out at Superior High School, please visit the link below and complete the 2 PART process. If you need assistance with the fee associated with the background check, please email leann.egnash@superior.k12.wi.us and she can help you. We do not want this fee to deter you from making a positive difference at our school. You can specify in your application if you want it to include multiple schools within our district. This check is valid for one year from the date it is complete.
Club Support
Student Clubs happen every Tuesday during Advisory class. This time gives students the opportunity to get involved with something they're interested in, and to meet like minded students who they may not have met otherwise. Ask your student which Club they're in.
Here are some Clubs that could use support:
Jewelry Making - Looking for donations of old or broken jewelry, keys, beads, or other household items that can be turned into jewelry. Students can drop donations off with Ms. Stubbe in Room 2114.
Lego Club - Seeking any lego donations. If your kids don't play with them anymore and you want to clean out the closets at home, Lego Club will put them to good use. Please have your student drop off these donations with Ms. Moore in Room 2150.
PowerSchool Tips
Teachers will use comments and/or score in PowerSchool to share with families how their child is doing. Looking for comments or feedback in PowerSchool? Here is a QUICK GUIDE to help you navigate comments and feedback in the PowerSchool Parent Portal.

Spartan Tennis at State Competition
We are proud of our Spartan Tennis athletes, Greta and Lily Clark, who advanced to state competition. Here is an article from the Spartan Spin. Their match started around 1pm today in Madison, and unfortunately they did not qualify to advance further. We are still so very proud of them and their awesome record this season. The Clark sisters are easy to root for. Way to represent!
Only physicals dated April 1, 2023 and after are good for this school year. Registrations need to be completed no later than 3 days before the season begins.

The PledgeMakers Leadership Board presented to Superior city staff, public health workers, and American Lung association leaders regarding drug/alcohol prevention in our community. They are planning their annual Black Light Volleyball student activity for mid-November. Watch the student announcements for details on how your student can participate.
Reality Fair
This week, our students had the opportunity to go to our Reality Fair set up in the NBC Spartan Arena. Students picked a career, whether they wanted to be single or married, how many kids they would like to have, and if they wanted a pet. Their income was based on an entry level position. When they entered the fair of businesses, they took chances on debt, realized expenses like transportation and basic needs, costs of child care, phone plans, and even had to pick 4 "life cards" with unexpected earnings or expenses. We couldn't have made this experience possible without the partnership of many businesses who helped give our students a sample of "reality". We love the support we get from our Spartan Community!
