AP/IB Testing Proctors Needed
We will need your help to proctor more than 2,600 AP exams and over 500 IB exams in May. Unfortunately, we are unable to provide any graduations tickets as we have in years past.
Below, you can find the Sign-up genius links to help proctor. Please review the testing schedule to see when you may be available to support our students.
Proctoring is very easy, and we couldn't do it without you. Each test already has a lead proctor, so now we need additional proctors to help monitor students.
We appreciate your time! Your help saves thousands of dollars each year that go back into resources, supplies for students, and teacher training.
Note: You cannot proctor an exam for a test your student is taking, so please check with them before signing up.

AP and IB at a glance schedule
Twenty eight AP exams are digital this year! It will be imperative for students to have a fully charged device on examination day. Make sure your student powered down and restarted their device recently so they have current updates. Please review your student's AP exam schedule and set reminders to charge devices at home. Students can check their exam schedule in Total Registration.
ATTENDANCE INFORMATION
Your student will only be cleared for the time during their test. If they wish to arrive late or be dismissed early, please send in the request in to attendance at least 48 hours in advance. If requests are made the day of the exam, we may not be able to accommodate the release.
Please do not plan or schedule any appointments directly following any exam. There are times when exams run over the estimated time. Students are not permitted to leave until ALL students have finished and proctors have verified ALL materials.
EXAM CANCELLATIONS
If your student wishes to cancel their exam, please make sure they do so in Total Registration. There are no more refunds at this time, but it helps us keep accurate records so we know who to expect on exam day.
LUNCH
For afternoon exams, students will be released 30 minutes early to eat lunch. In order to help our cafeteria staff, we ask that students fill out this Google Form to let us know which day(s) they need lunch from the cafeteria.
Please email Mrs. Casady in the SPIRIT center if you have questions.
Campus Security Update: May 2026
Dear Wolfpack Families,
Prior to Spring Break, Great Oak High School and the Temecula Valley Unified School District safety team conducted a comprehensive audit of our campus security protocols. While our school remains a safe environment, the audit identified several areas where we can tighten procedures to better protect our students and staff.
Our primary focus moving forward is managing campus access points. Over the past two weeks, we have begun implementing changes to limit entry points while ensuring our campus remains accessible for after-school activities, arts, and athletics.
Please review the following updates to our daily operations:
Campus Access Updates
Locked Gates: To better monitor who enters our campus, many gates that were previously open will now remain locked. All students and visitors must use the Main Entrance or designated pedestrian gates.
Senior Gate: Senior Lot gate (Lot C) will close at 9:00 am daily. If a student driver arrives after this point they will have to enter through the Deer Hollow entrance (Lot B).
Item Drop-offs: If your student forgets equipment (ROTC uniforms, instruments, athletic gear, etc.), please bring it directly to the Main Office. Note: For security reasons, please do not meet your student at a perimeter fence or side gate to hand off items.
Traffic and Dismissal Procedures
5th Period Early Release
Student Drivers: Must exit via the Deer Hollow Gate.
Parent Pick-up: Please meet your student in Lot A (front of the school).
6th Period Early Release and End-of-Day Dismissal (Senior Lot)
Any student without a 6th period, will need to be scanned out of the parking lot prior to exit by Campus Security. We have tried a variety of different systems over the last week to ensure a balance between tightening safety protocols and getting students quickly out of the parking lot. Please be patient as we find the best system! The gate will be open from:
2:30 - 2:50 (M, T, Th and Fri)
12:53 - 1:30 (W)
Any remaining students after these times will exit via Deer Hollow.
We need your help: We kindly ask that you adjust your arrival time for afternoon pick-up. Avoiding early arrival in the Senior Lot allows us to keep the campus secure for a longer duration of the school day.
We understand that adjusting to new routines can be inconvenient. However, these steps are vital to maintaining a secure environment for the entire Wolfpack community.
If you have questions regarding these updates, please contact Mr. Michael Hubbard, Assistant Principal of Student Support and Supervision, or reach out to my office directly.
Thank you for your continued partnership in keeping our students safe.
Sincerely,
Dr. Amber Lane
Principal, Great Oak High School
Back to Back Champions: GOHS Cyber Security Takes the Cup!
We are thrilled to share some incredible news from our campus tech experts! For the second year in a row, the Great Oak High School Cyber Security Team has officially won the Inland Empire Mayor’s Cup.
Our students demonstrated elite technical skill, teamwork, and problem-solving to secure the top spot. This victory cements GOHS as a powerhouse in the region; we have now taken home the trophy in three of the last four Mayor’s Cup competitions!
The Mayor’s Cup is a rigorous competition where students defend simulated networks from real-world cyber threats. Winning this title requires:
Advanced Technical Skill: Managing complex operating systems and security protocols.
Persistence: Solving high-pressure challenges under tight deadlines.
- Consistency: Maintaining a "dynasty" status with three wins in four years.
Please join us in celebrating our hardworking students and their coaches for this outstanding achievement. Go Wolfpack!

AFJROTC Updates
Mission Success: Inland Empire Drill Meet 2026
On April 18, 2026, at 0800 hours, Great Oak High School (GOHS) AFJROTC unit CA-20052 competed in the Inland Empire Drill Meet against nineteen schools across the state of California. Drill meets are a competition for military-style drill teams, primarily involving JROTC or military honor guard units, focusing on precision, discipline, and synchronized marching. Cadets are evaluated on bearing, rhythm, and sharp, clean movements, some of which involve complex rifle tosses, spins, and formations. Drill meets are categorized as armed and unarmed. GOHS AFJROTC delivered an outstanding performance earning second place in four-person-armed and second place in four-person-unarmed. GOHS AFJROTC also earned second place in overall unarmed inspection. These results reflect the cadets’ dedication, countless hours of practice, and commitment to excellence. The Wolfpack represented Great Oak with pride and professionalism.
A Super Night for the Wolfpack: GOHS AFJROTC 2026 Military Ball
On April 18, 2026, at 1800 hours, Great Oaks High School AFJROTC unit CA-20052 conducted its annual military ball at the Pechanga Resort Casino. This year’s theme of the military ball, DC Comics, brought vibrant energy and creativity to the evening as cadets, families and guests gather to celebrate tradition, achievement and camaraderie. The event involved the formation of the Senior Sabre Arch, the playing of the National Anthem, formal toasts, and a series of distinguished speeches, good food, and overall fun for everyone present. Guest speaker United States Navy retired Chief Petty Officer Jodi Geibel delivered a speech about her life as a United States Navy personnel and the importance of endurance and determination.
Cadet Staff Sergeant Emma Marshall played the national anthem on the guitar. Throughout the ceremony, Cadet Master Sergeant Minami Gibbs and Cadet Master Sergeant Alizel Lao served as the primary orators, guiding the program with professionalism and poise.
The evening was filled with good food, celebration, and lasting memories—an outstanding showcase of the pride and excellence of the Wolfpack.
Anchors Aweigh: Two Wolfpack Seniors Awarded Full NROTC Scholarships!
We are incredibly proud to announce that two of our outstanding seniors have been awarded the prestigious Naval Reserve Officers Training Corps (NROTC) Scholarship.
This highly competitive national scholarship is awarded to students who demonstrate exceptional academic achievement, physical fitness, and high moral character. It covers the full cost of tuition, books, and fees at some of the nation's top universities, preparing these students for a future as commissioned officers in the U.S. Navy or U.S. Marine Corps.
Excellence in Leadership
The selection process for the NROTC scholarship is rigorous, looking far beyond just grades. Our recipients were chosen based on:
Academic Rigor: Maintaining a high GPA while tackling challenging coursework.
Athletic Readiness: Scoring in the top tiers of physical fitness assessments.
Proven Leadership: Serving in leadership roles within our school and local community.
By accepting this scholarship, these students are committing to a future of service and leadership.
Please join us in saluting Tanya and Arni, two remarkable students for their dedication and wishing them the best of luck as they begin their journey!

PBIS: No Go List and Student Account Remminders
Great Oak High School is committed to supporting positive student behavior and accountability. As part of our PBIS system, we want to remind families about the expectations surrounding detention hours and the NO GO List.
Students who accumulate 8 or more hours of detention—due to tardies, single-period truancies, and/or disciplinary actions—are placed on the NO GO List. When a student is on this list, their school account is locked, which restricts them from making purchases at bookkeeping and on the webstore. This includes items such as dance tickets, parking permits and GRADUATION TICKETS! Additionally, students on the NO GO List are not permitted to attend school events, including WSB activities and athletic contests. For student-athletes, this also means they cannot leave school early for away games!
Students can be removed from the NO GO List by reducing their detention hours to below 8 hours. Opportunities to serve detention include:
Before School: 7:50–8:20 AM (Room 306)
Lunch: Room 306
Saturday School: Counts for 4 hours
We encourage families to partner with us in helping students take advantage of these opportunities to clear their hours, regain privileges, and stay engaged in the full school experience.
If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to our PBIS Coordinator, Mr. Morton.

Harmonious Success at the Forum Festival!
We are thrilled to celebrate the incredible achievements of our Choir and String Orchestra students following their performance at the Forum Festival at Fullerton College last Saturday.
Our talented musicians brought home prestigious honors, competing against high standards. The Choir earned a Silver rating, placing them in the top 20% of performing groups! This achievement is especially remarkable considering the group was comprised of students from all four choir sections who had only two weeks to learn their repertoire and limited time to rehearse as a full ensemble.
Our String Orchestra earned a Bronze rating, placing them in the top 30%. As a brand-new program with a small ensemble of seven performers—most of whom only began learning their instruments this school year—this is an outstanding debut on the festival stage.
We are incredibly proud of the hard work, flexibility, and dedication these students showed. Next time you visit the front office, be sure to take a look at our new plaques on display!
